I would HIGHLY suggest that you get AT LEAST a Hi-vis vest from Walmart. They are cheap and make it much easier for people to see you. That was our second purchase after our helmets. We purchased better vests later on, but needed something right away.

Thank Mel46. I am planning to go pick up one this weekend. I have had a few close calls with cars almost running into the back of me while waiting at stop lights (and sometimes stop signs). Hopefully, a Hi-vis vest will help them see me better.
