If you repowdercoat, PM me first, I'll trade rims with you and pay shipping, etc. It'll be cheaper for me than paying to have mine powdercoated.

Dont think you want these wheels now.They have damage from my brother taking it to work.He welds at work and grinding dust fly's everywhere.Some got on the wheels and there is surface rust stuck on there.Basically the dust IS the rust.Im trying to take it off but its not working.

How much did they tell you to powder your wheels?

I went ahead and put the pcx in my backyard for right now.Gonna see what I can mess with while the bearings get here.

Aw, that stinks that it won't come off. Welding is messy business though, so I can see how it would cause damage. You're lucky it didn't mar up the paint!

The place near me originally quoted me for $150 total, but when I took them the wheels, they told me they charge a flat rate and that the total would be around $300, which is insane. I'd probably do it for $100, I pay for shipping. I'd take out the bearings and take off the tires before shipping too, I need new tires anyways.

What are u using to pull bearings? Let me see how it goes on mine and maybe we can work something out.

Might have to use a bearing press then... I know they have them at Harbor Freight tools for relatively cheap.

Let me look at some choices and pick which one i think looks best.If I get a good setup/routine going then I dont mind doing them for people on here.I could stock new bearings while im at it.

Ah, I catch you. I was under the impression that you had created two seats, rather than having one and having a new cover at the ready for when you sell the bride seat. I reread your for sale thread, and it made more sense.

My PCX has been sitting in my backyard for a while now.Been too "cold" by Texas standards.I was texting with my new machinist when I said screw it,lets get this going.

Cutting wheel in hand and a few minutes later...

What is going on? Basically the center of the wheel will be lathed down on all sides and some off the top depending on overall thickness.Measuring the top thickness will also let us know if it can be shaved flat or not.The pcx wheel is tapered at the top.If its too thin then a custom top plate will be made to make a flat top surface over the hub.Once I figure out a lug pattern then studs will be added.Why all this? To run an aftermarket wheel basically.

Right now the clearance is very small on the stock wheel.I put a 12" wheel next to the stock 14" and height dimensions are almost identical.Thats why im thinking of downsizing to 12's front and rear.I have the front figured out,custom fab work will be needed.Swapping lower triple trees but keeping the same stem basically.Nothing we haven't done before.

Last would be combining the rear wheel with a custom made engine mount to stretch out the stance.Im shipping out the center hub asap and gonna figure out my wheel options.Right now im thinking 12x10 but im not sure if the tire will stretch out that far.I've stretched it out on a 8" before.

This is what tire I put on for mockup on a 12x7.Its a Yokohama ADVAN a048

$210 USD for that little booger in 12 inch size.

Its not gonna be for everyone's taste but to modify it like the Thai & Japanese bikes is the reason I bought it for.Putting a big windshield and a chrome trim isn't gonna do anything for my business.On the other hand building a crazy modified scooter will show the correct crowd the work we can do.

You might not like it along with 100 others BUT the owner wanted it that way.If thats what he wants and wants to spend $6-7,000USD doing so then should I go for it or listen to your opinion on what should be done to a scooter to keep it proper?

The US take on the PCX is really really different on the Asian counterparts.After running my scoot side of my business for 2 years I think im on the right path.But yes expect more updates on this ugly,crappy handling piece of shit.

They are all used and a lot of the cost is in the high end parts & custom fab work.The one above is on air suspension and pretty much none of it is stock.Its still very rideable but what the owners choose to do with it is none of my biz.They can use it to pick up pizza if thats what they want to do after it leaves here.My fee's are nothing compared to other companies in California where prices start at $12,000 and up for a full build.
