I haven't been on here much so now i'll let you guys know why.Been working a lot over here saving money for a new work machine. Finally have enough saved to pay it!!!
NOT MY PIC but machine is from same company im getting mine from.....
For anyone thats been living under a rock, its called a cnc plasma table.
Basically you put in your 2D file on the computer then it gets transferred onto the "controller" which moves the mechanized arm holding your plasma torch.Shapes are cut out pretty accurately aslong as your setup correctly.
The company is backed up so it wont be ready until about February 2012.In the meantime i'll be making room for it since im already low on space. With the PCX design it wont be easy -BUT- if you guys think of any parts that can be made with this then lmk. With the PCX having plastics and such it really limits what can be made for it.We have plenty of time to figure out ideas though so just a heads up.
Here is an example of stuff that can be made. This is my engine mount we make for the Honda Ruckus 50cc engine.Basically you can see the side pieces are flat along with the center plate.I get those cut out right now by a local shop then we weld it up with the rest of the bits.
Like I said, its prob a long shot but if you guys come up with anything i'll gladly consider making it as long as its possible. And now we play the waiting game until it gets here.

That would be a horrible waste of the equipment, Woolley. I think it'd burn your pizza too.
I'm not sure what would be possible... I know you guys were working on building motor mount extensions like the ones you have for the Rucks. Since you can only do flat components, doing airbox covers or anything similar isn't possible. You may be able to build mounting plates for rear cargo carriers (or a rear rack of your own design).

Wooley that would be 1 expensive pizza slicer and you would prob die from eating whatever comes out of that torch.
Maddie screw an airbox cover,i was thinking more of a whole replacement! Stuff like that can be drawn in 3D then the cpu lays out the sections in 2D.You just weld them together but hey that IS what we do here the most, welding.Fancy license plate brackets would be another idea or just plain ol' PCX sign memorabilia.Dont forget I can also powdercoat all these things. The motor mounts yes we will most likely do with this too but market seems more than a little limited on people who would actually want one.The "crazy look" hasn't really adapted over here as much as Thailand, etc.Regardless I do want mine stretched out!
