Just Picked Up A 2021

Post by Denny »

I just picked up a 2021 ADV with only 34 miles! The original owner had medical issues and had to sell. I was about to make a counter offer for a 2022 ADV from my local dealer (they were asking 6K OTD) when I saw this one on CL. He added a few drop guards, larger side stand foot, and a few other things not installed. I paid his asking price of $4300 ( I felt bad for him and didn't even try and offer 4K) and the GOV $508 = $4808 OTD. I love red and I do not like black (especially because I commute at night), but saving $1200 for a color was a no brainer. I had to take it on the highway to get home (topping out at 67MPH), and driving about 40 miles. Right away I felt the higher seat hight (I'm 5'6" and can still flat foot with boots on). It feels more powerful vs my 2016 PCX. I haven't had a chance to ride off rode so I haven't noticed the added shocks travel. I used to place my feet on the forward incline foot pads on my PCX, the ADV seems like a higher angle (not as comfortable). I removed my Givi Top Case and Plate from my PCX, I have to find an after market Adapter Plate for the ADV so I can install my case (shoot me the info if you have an adapter plate for your ADV). I just sold my PCX today to a gentleman from Seattle, I think we were both satisfied with the deal. Here are a few pics, let me know what y'all think.

Sorry I'm having troubles uploading pics. It's getting late, so I will try for a little more. If I'm unsuccessful I'll try and post em up tomorrow or so.

Excellent! What a bargain, and the black/silver is a slick looker!
Thanks for Sharing the pics! I especially appreciate the side by side comparison of the ADV & PCX. What a difference in Facial expressions :D

Thanks for posting my pics. At 5’6” I notice the higher seat height. I can still flat foot it when I’m down farther on the seat with boots on. I’ve taken it on a couple of short dirt/rocky roads, that I probably wouldn’t have attempted on my PCX. It handled it no problem. I notice the higher ride height and added suspension travel. It seems quicker and more powerful, but it’s brand new with less than 80 miles, I bought my 2016 PCX in 2018 with 1300 miles on it. Every article I’ve read says it’s $500 more than the 2021 PCX. They need to compare it to the ABS version at $4000. So comparing the ABS versions, the difference is $300. That’s actually a good comparison due to the newer more powerful and better engine. If the 2023 ADV had the same engine as the 2021 PCX with a $300 markup, I’d definitely say the styling and shocks would be worth it.
