There clutch shoes and bell are sensitive to extreme heat, lots of traffic riding or fast riding in hot weather, anything that causes very hot temperature in that part of CVT, it could be slow riding or fast riding, doesn't matter..., not much of a problem in cold Canada I reckon...
Honda has acknowledge this and on their new Forza 350 they are using 5 shoes instead of 3 and I hope (!) a better quality ones....
I'm using aftermarket carbon shoes and aftermarket grooved clutch bell, so far after 7000km it is holding up, no problem at take off but small judder and vibration at 25km when clutch disengage and softly re-engages...., I can live with that....
