ACC 2A stock fuse not large enough?

Post by Rickjds »

My apologies if this is the wrong forum or if this has been asked before. I tried hooking up a tire inflator to the accessory outlet and since it draws 10A, it blows the 2A fuse (duh!). My question is does anyone know what is the largest size fuse this ACC outlet and wiring can use? I assume the wires are 16 or 18 gauge but not certain. My ‘11 Burgman 400’s ACC outlet could handle the tire inflator with no problem. The battery was literally right next to the ACC outlet though. I don’t recall what the fuse or wiring size was.

I would recommend if you MUST, get some alligator clips and go directly on the battery. I wouldnt recommend running it for too long since these batteries are so weak. Maybe run the bike and on the center stand hold it at like 5-6k rpms. Dont just add a bigger fuse. Too much of a risk of frying the wires.
