Monsooned Malabar & Closed Schools

Post by fish »

Dino served up Monsooned Malabar* coffee this morning.
Appropriate to the wicked winds as the sun rose this morning.

Sad to see these schools closed ---for how long, we wonder?

Fish
*Monsooned Malabar, is a process applied to coffee beans. The harvested coffee seeds are exposed to the monsoon rain and winds for a period of about three to four months, causing the beans to swell and lose the original acidity, resulting in a flavor profile with a practically neutral pH balance. From the SW coast of India.

A day without coffee is like a day without sunshine.

I bought a bag of Peet's Ethiopian Single Origin recently.

I'll get a chance to try it after my current bag of Pete's French Roast is used up . . ..

Either Peet's or Starbucks are my "go to" brands for home brew . . . can't go wrong either way.

When they go on sale for $2 off life is good. :D

Freakin crazy weather lately. Watch out for frozen surfaces on the morning rides!

We stocked up on coffee, knowing that it could run low during this time. Even if it doesn't, we buy whole bean and grind it as we need it, which keeps it fresh much much longer. We have a little coffee "jar" that we pour the freshly ground coffee grinds into and seal it by putting the lid on it when not using it. We grind about 3 days worth at a time.
