That is so true. If only the rest of mankind remembered and abided by it.

A random act of kindness trips people up.

They don't expect it . . ..

Once they've realized it doesn't come with a cost (or upper cut to the jaw out of nowhere) they can relax and think good things about the good Samaritan. :D

Examples of a helpful hand in time of trouble.

Yes, that is what we should all be doing.

My wife and I just picked up a dog to either foster or keep. His master died, so the guy's daughter took him. Then she died a short time later. Then the grandchildren tried to split the responsibility between their households but each had large dogs that terrorized the poor dog. We have had him for 3 days now and he is growing so attached to our dogs that he was very upset this morning when my wife had to take one of ours to the vet for annual teeth cleaning. He is now sitting beside me, whining softly.

In less than a year his life has been turned upside down. Imagine the number of animals out there that go through this type of turmoil. Now imagine what they feel when someone comes along and helps them. They show gratitude better than some people do, but we all need a helping hand occasionally.

We are helping neighbors who don't get out much as well. Surprisingly, I am not the oldest person in my subdivision. In fact, even some who are my age don't get out often like I do. I stopped by one individual's house recently when I was out on my bike, and they were surprised that I was still able to ride at my age.

In the end I brought their goods to the fence, hung the bags there, called them on the phone to let them know about their goods, and rode home. Bikes are still great, even for grocery runs!

Cats are great . . ..

If you are older and it's tough to get around they are a good alternative to having a dog. :D
