how to get preload rear adjustment on a PCX

Post by RobV »

I saw some "preload" adjusters on webike - no idea how they work. The lack of preload on the rear of the PCX is one of the things that made me hesitate before buying it. Despite its diminutive stature the little PCX has the same load carrying capacity as my cruiser, however depending on the rider\passenger\luggage combo, the rear springs need to cope with anything from 60kg to 180 kg. With just my 95kg it works fine but add a pillion and it regularly bottoms out.

Is the only way of getting preload buying new shockies? Has anyone tried these preload adjusters from webike?

As far as I know, there is no way to adjust the shocks that come on the PCX. That is why YSS shocks are so popular for replacement shocks on the PCX. You might consider getting some. They will make a world of difference in your riding.

Here is where many, if not most, members seem to find them.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately to Australia postage cost is comparable to the product cost
