I mentioned a desire to have a duplicate "view New Posts" button at the bottom of the screen awhile ago, and was reminded about hitting the HOME key to jump to the top of the screen. This has been more or less successful, but, being a lazy slug (and on a desktop computer, the antique that I am), have found a better, more labor saving solution. I call up the new posts, then right-click on the newest message box (or whatever it is), and open the newest message in that thread in a new tab. I finish reading, close the tab, and I am happily back to the list. While it hasn't been updated that I have checked that last post, I can deal with that by working my way down form the top.

Now I REALLY don't need the duplicate button.
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

Please paste this address into a new tab and add yourself to the map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1NlP7xk7KMdJReQnm-iDhldFBdpQ&ll=4.995760578398276%2C0&z=2
but please, don't delete anybody, no matter how badly they deserve deleting :)

Do you think generous, less than profit oriented sites like Ecomodder or Fuelly would offer you a free banner link to this site?

July 2019 UPDATE!!!!

Number of posts: 133589 (July ’13: 18500)
Posts per day: 47.99 (July ’13: 26.97)
Number of topics: 9450 (July ’13: 1208)
Topics per day: 3.40 (July ’13: 1.76)
Number of users: 4254 (July ’13: 742)
Users per day: 1.53 (July ’13: 1.08)

WOW, this place has exploded in content over the last 6 years! :o

Here's our updated hits:

We were in a growth pattern back in July '13, but it appears as through hits has stabilized at 600-700k per month. I think that's a bit interesting - even though Honda continues to make the PCX into the 2019 year model, we haven't picked up more hits on average. There are a few possible reasons for this - the prevalence of Facebook groups for scooter information, and the fact that gas has gotten cheap again both reduce demand.

Perhaps more interesting is the fact that we have essentially twice the posts per day than in 2013, but with less hits. I actually view this as a good thing - that means everyone is posting and participating more, and lurking less.

And here's our updated bandwidth:

Oddly enough, this has gone down a good bit over the last year. I'm really not sure what to attribute that to. Maybe y'all are posting less pictures? Stop doing that, post more pictures of your scooters. Or dogs. Or your dogs on scooters!

A huge thanks to Mark and Robbie for moderating so much as I'm off being a dad, working, and riding my scooter less often than I'd like. This forum couldn't keep going without you two. A huge thanks to everyone reading this and posting too - you guys built this community, I just put the forum software out there and keep it up to date. Keep being awesome! :D

One problem for us old timers is that we dont have answers for questions about the newer models. It would be nice if some of the members who have newer models could do maintenance comparisons for the benefit of all of us. For instance No one, as far as I know, has taken a 2018 model PCX completely apart and documented it, like you did Maddiedog. Therefore, if a new member asks about installing an aftermarket windshield, not only dont we know where they can locate one, but we also do not know how they are installed on the newest models...and, is the 2018 model different from the 2019 in that respect?? See the problem? If we are to continue to be helpful and informative We Need some input from those with the Newest Machines.

Anyway to link and connect a group page to facebook? Might help pick up new members and give out information new PCX owners need or have. Also is there a color change option for the back ground borders of the page?

Keep up the good work and hopefully the PCX will still be around for a few years more. I saw the new ADV-150 advertisement so me may end up adding it to the line up.

I have no plans for Facebook integration. The site uses very simple software, we'd have to do a huge upgrade to support that. I'd have to monetize the forum to make that happen (which is not happening). ;)

I was actually considering changing the theme to be a darker background, it would be much more pleasant to read at night. I'll make a quick poll.

I completely agree with this. It's hard to get volunteers though, PCXes aren't quite as popular as they used to be state-side. There are a lot of options nowadays. When the PCX came out, it was the first watercooled 4-stroke 125 that had good performance. Now there's tons of chinese knock-offs and name-brand competition that perform pretty well.

I'll get a new PCX eventually when I have more time to ride - I want one very specifically for the ABS. That is my only complaint about my 2011... ABS is absolutely HUGE as a safety feature on two wheels. I've had more than enough hard stops (including on my PCX), and never ever want to have to do another emergency stop without it.

Unfortunately, it will be quite a while before Honda sends a PCX to the United States that has ABS. Right now it looks like they are testing the market elsewhere, with the ABS version being higher in price than the base version, meaning that pricing if it hits the U.S. market is going to put it out of range of the new riders. Heck, I would settle for disc brakes in the back right now! I can change a lot of things on this bike, but I can't upgrade the back brakes to disc. :-(
