Service

Post by rollmops »

Hi
Does someone know what work has to be done for the 12000 miles service?
My local Honda dealer is quoting me 160£, twice as much then the 8000m service.
Thanks. :)

You'll need a new drive belt and the brake fluid and coolant will need changing.

I'll take the liberty to hijack this thread a little if I may as 12k service include valve clearance inspection.

Does anyone with the service manual for 2018< 125 Forzas know the valve clearance values?
And if somone have the torque values for the cylinder head cover I will be all set.

£160 for an oil change  , I got quoted similar for my first service, did it myself, do you trust them enough to believe they will do the valve inspection?, if there are panels to remove on the 125 put some clear sticky tape on them and see if its been removed when you get it back.
mark the nuts on the case cover to see if they removed them to check your belt as well, there not called stealerships for nothing, i trust no one, it has to be earned.

Is there not a sticker under the seat with the engine specs: valve gap, spark plug type and gap, etc., etc.?
Scoots sold in USA have this info posted there....
and this info supercedes any info in a manual!

Nope. There is a sticker with tire specs and pressures. There is also a sticker with load limits for the top box and underseat storage, but that's it

I wouldn't trust torque specs for the cylinder head cover. Someone else on this forum tried to torque theirs to spec and broke the bolt. Just hand tighten those plus 1/4 turn with wrench. You can feel when it is tight enough.

Yeah, I can agree the head cover torque is not vital, but valve clearance specs kinda isn't a ballpark setting, so does anyone know?

Btw, I have ordered the service manual, so hopefully I can provide the definitive answer soon™

Cool dude. Let us know how it goes. We’ll be waiting.

Valve clearance has a tolerance which to another dude could be a ballpark setting.

Kinda is, kinda isn’t

Don’t smoke the service manual.
