Vespas Are Already Hitting U.S. Market for 2020

Post by Old Grinner »

I had to do a double take when I saw this ad . . ..

https://www.herbchambersvespaboston.com ... 1cebf.htm#

A bit early perhaps . . .?

That said you can have a Honda Metropolitan for about $1500 less if you only need something to get around locally on streets with a speed limit of 35 MPH. :geek:

But it's a classic. Beautiful. Metal vs plastics. It's a Piaggio Vespa!
If I were in college I'd be puttering around campus etc on one of these. In and out of classrooms we'd go :D I'd Never let Prima outta my sight ($$$)

The dashboard alone...Brings me "back" in time behind the wheel 8)

Interestingly, the 2020 Primavera 150 listed on that site appears to be an old version and doesn't have the current i-get Euro4 engine.

The Primavera is simply beautiful.

Nice paint job, but I still prefer my PCX 150.

Agreed.
Not sure I'd ever take it out of my living room though.
Would like to test ride a new Vespa just once.

I have test ridden a Vespa once. The 300 GTS model from 2017. Power wise I just rode it on the street and it is a quiet silky motor with excellent low end pull.
Handling is average at best to me, I just can't get a feel from those tiny tires.

Vespa's new 300 engine has 20% more oomph.
With a straight face they're calling it the HPE - High Power Engine..... grins and giggles.

Speaking of 300s, I liked the look of this one . . ..

They came and went. Great buy for the nostalgia minded. 8)

I don't like the look of the headlamp on the mudguard. Or the tacky 6 logo.
Nice colour though.

Nope. Me neither. Not a GTV. Same reasons gn2 stated. Fugly headlamp and other bits.

Colors, hmm I like - that green, white, ivory, azure, and they have a sweet copperish brown. No orange. It's the wrong orange. As much as I like the yellow, the bees do too. So, no thanks to that flavor as well. Pink is cotton candy. It's Icky. Flat Black is very cool, but harder to clean and, it's still Black. No gray. That's soo boring.
So many colors to choose from. PCX, Not so much. Sad honestly.

You mean like this "Copperish Brown" that Tom Hanks rode in L.A. some time back???

I think the headlight is a throwback to the past. It's one of those things that you don't see everyday. In a weird way it does kind of look like a perched pigeon. Italy has a lot of pigeons perched on statues doesn't it?

Never found Vespa's great looking by any means, they seem very old fashioned and plain to me.
