Topbox cheap tail light
nothing fancy
just attached a cheap rechargeable tail light (4$) on my Givi for added visibility.
charge for 2 hours and will last for about 10 hours.
will do for now, until i can buy a top box with built in tail light and brake light..

Re: Topbox cheap tail light
Thanks Alex! The Red is out of stock but I see the same rechargeable light being sold elsewhere by others (relatives?) on that page.
So affordable. Got kids riding bicycles? I may order three. One for me and 2 for the youngin's in the family. Free shipping, but will take weeks to arrive (U.S.). That's fine. Trusting the seller is my hold back. Sad I question things today that in the past I never had a reason to. Ugh, what to do....
Where would I and How would I fasten this to my scoots tail! (No tailbox on mine).

Maybe you could replace the rear reflector with the LED? That's what I did here. By the looks of it you'd have to make your own mount for the LED to use, but that should be easy!WhiteNoise wrote: Where would I and How would I fasten this to my scoots tail! (No tailbox on mine).

Re: Topbox cheap tail light
Yours is a lot cheaper, but I installed a Custom Dynamics Knight Riderz sequential light on my license plate holder. $30 is a cheap price for being more visible.

We can’t do that over here in the UK as we have to have a red rear reflector. Probably get away with it until the first MoT test at three years if you wanted.

Mel, that flashing brake light is a nice feature..does the 3M does its job of keeping it sturdy?Mel46 wrote:Yours is a lot cheaper, but I installed a Custom Dynamics Knight Riderz sequential light on my license plate holder. $30 is a cheap price for being more visible.

Yes, that 3M tape is really great. That light has not moved at all in the 6+ years that it has been on the bike either of my bikes. (Each of our bikes has the same setup.)

Yeah, I guess if the LED bar is just LEDs, then that would be a potential citation.you you wrote:We can’t do that over here in the UK as we have to have a red rear reflector. What if the light is also a reflector? The VistaLite I'm using is both, but I think it's out of production. Other makers offer tail lights that are reflector/light combos. Planet Bike has several. Would that meet the letter of the law?

Re: Topbox cheap tail light
I changed mine over from just reflector to reflector and brake light. It isn't as bright as the other brake lights I have, but at night it shows up quite well. You can see it in this picture.
