Topbox cheap tail light

Post by alx123 »

nothing fancy

just attached a cheap rechargeable tail light (4$) on my Givi for added visibility.

charge for 2 hours and will last for about 10 hours.

will do for now, until i can buy a top box with built in tail light and brake light..

Thanks Alex! The Red is out of stock but I see the same rechargeable light being sold elsewhere by others (relatives?) on that page.

So affordable. Got kids riding bicycles? I may order three. One for me :D and 2 for the youngin's in the family. Free shipping, but will take weeks to arrive (U.S.). That's fine. Trusting the seller is my hold back. Sad I question things today that in the past I never had a reason to. Ugh, what to do....

 Where would I and How would I fasten this to my scoots tail! (No tailbox on mine).

Maybe you could replace the rear reflector with the LED? That's what I did here. By the looks of it you'd have to make your own mount for the LED to use, but that should be easy!

How about (Velcro) Hook and Loop stickey's.

Yours is a lot cheaper, but I installed a Custom Dynamics Knight Riderz sequential light on my license plate holder. $30 is a cheap price for being more visible.

We can’t do that over here in the UK as we have to have a red rear reflector. Probably get away with it until the first MoT test at three years if you wanted.

Yes, that 3M tape is really great. That light has not moved at all in the 6+ years that it has been on the bike either of my bikes. (Each of our bikes has the same setup.)

Yeah, I guess if the LED bar is just LEDs, then that would be a potential citation.
What if the light is also a reflector? The VistaLite I'm using is both, but I think it's out of production. Other makers offer tail lights that are reflector/light combos. Planet Bike has several. Would that meet the letter of the law?

I changed mine over from just reflector to reflector and brake light. It isn't as bright as the other brake lights I have, but at night it shows up quite well. You can see it in this picture.
