New Pirelli Angel Rear Tire for Forza 300

Post by GeorgeSK »

Just had a chilly ride home from the dealer after a new tire change. I only got around 6K out of the original, but I confess that I was not religious about checking the pressure, and it was pretty much all two-up. The Angel or the Diablo were all the dealer could get me, but it seems like the Angel would be an OK tire for my use. I took a couple of pics, most interestingly of the wear bars. I'm hoping to get a fair bit of mileage out of these. We shall see. Sorry about the pics being sideways, but I don't think it makes much difference given what I want to show you all.

Like so many of us....

It does raise the question, though. why the little spikes? I don't see them on auto or bicycle tires. Why do they exist? Anybody have a clue?

Not me unfortunately. Think Gru

The little spikes are from where the tread compound has been introduced into the tyre mould. (Or mold, if you are hindered by North American spelling).

I love the guys who trim all the tire nibs off so they don't die.....obviously a govt. plot to do away with preppies.

I am tempted to try the Pirelli Angel, I think the new Rosso Diablo is replacing the Diablo as the sporty tire option. However for the rear tire the new Rosso does not come in the Forza stock oem rear size. I prefer to not mess with things and stick with a rear 140 size and not go up to 150 as I would have to in the Rosso Diablo.

The Angel does come in the 140 rear size.

I have the Diablo front and rear and love them, the difference over the stock Dunlop with handling feel is really big.

140 to 150 may not make a great deal of differences as tyre width/height/aspect ratio can be a bit interpretive between different manufacturers

Factory originals have never been a problem..Honda dealers usually overnight them in.
