One other thing I'd like to add is that the price on the Zuma was within $300 of the SMax.
But they are two different rides.
I had to decide what features were more important to me.

You're right about the horn. A van reversed into me and I couldn't find it in the moment. Even with regular practice since then when I'm riding about, it's just not natural. It needs to be right there on a motorbike when you're warning drivers who haven't seen you. It's not. It a reach.

I honk the horn every time I switch from the PCX to the S'Wing. I shudder to think what I'll do once my BMW is back running since it has turn signals on each bar.

So does mine as it’s an old one too. Never had a problem. You’ll be fine.

FWIW I'm no longer going to use PCX150Rider and will be known as "Old Grinner".
With all due respect it just seems like the right thing to do.
That said on with the ride!

If you're going to grin, wear a full face helmet or your teeth will fill up with bugs. < True fact.
If you feel the need to wear an open face and expose your grin to all and sundry, one of these will help maintain the grin to a very high level:

Nice bike but it's got me stumped. I'm going to my "Encyclopedia of the Motorcycle" to see if I can find a match.grin to a very high level:
I thought maybe Royal Enfield at first but just not sure. It does look like a 650 twin. . .maybe Amal Carbs?
It's a right hand shift so thinking British. . ..
I'll get back with my answer to the mystery.
Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
Its the much awaited new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which will be having its global launch in California this September.
Fuel injection, air cooled and the foot control in the pic is the brake pedal.
And its got ABS.
And its Indian.

Interesting. Is this really true? Most of the big economic indicators suggest that wage growth, GDP, stocks and employment are on the same steady trajectory as BT (before Trump). For us living abroad that are getting a little tired of his 'it was badly broke and all wrong but now I fixed it and made it all great again' routine, maybe you could explain what's dramatically changed for you - in tangible terms? He makes big claims, just wondering why the traditional headline figures have been steadily positive for several years.homie wrote:America is GREAT again and prosperity has gone off the charts thanks to one crazy man with the biggest balls on the palnet

Wow. . .nice! Its the much awaited new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which will be having its global launch in California this September.
I've got to get out more often. . .had no idea. Still thought all we had on the showroom floors here were Enfield 500 Bullets in various versions. . .the military one is nice.
That lever did look rather shifty to me though. . .it didn't seem to have the flat part as a brake would. . .hence the vintage guess.
The echo of "Royal Enfield Indian" spans the Universe once again.
But you mean made in India right?
What classic looking machines. If I had $$ to play with I'd get a 500 single just to have and take out on Sunday mornings at 10:00AM for coffee and donuts.
That said stay tuned for this model as well. . ..

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
Thanks for the explanation, excellent writing and you really lay out the differences well! I now understand your reasoning and certainly appreciate it. As a side note I have to agree with your points, especially the seat and horn.PCX150Rider wrote:...To sum it up the traffic in my area seems to have really increased just in the past few years... I remember seeing Kymco Like 50's, Vespa 50's, Zuma 50's, Rucks, Metros, and VIP's etc. . .around in numbers before that but not so much anymore. I think the MOPED type scooters are just being squeezed off the road.
The PCX horn/turn signal arrangement and seat basically was something that continued to frustrate me as I've mentioned more than once.
Here's what I liked about the Zuma....

gbru2505,
I could explain to you what we see here in the States, BUT there is a standing rule on this forum. No politics. Remember that this is an international forum, so there WILL be differing political views. However, this forum is about scooters, not politics.
Keeping that in mind, let's play by the rules so that this forum can continue to help all of us.

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
FWIW I sent a note to Honda about the frustration I had with the location of the turn signals and horn on my PCX and mentioned about the limited comfort of the seat design for some people. It will be interesting to see what their feedback is.
I've been a good customer to Honda and it wasn't easy for me to trade in my PCX. From what I can tell it may have been sold already. . .it's not on the dealer's "pre-owned inventory" online listing anymore. I took good care of it and it took good care of me while I had it.
Just didn't want to complain about something that was annoying to me. . .and maybe others. . .and not do anything to try and improve the situation. That said Honda does make it easy to contact them about customer related concerns if anyone else needs to.

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX
I've actually been thinking about buying a new switch cluster off a swing or reflex for the left side of my PCX. I wonder if there are any that match plug-wise?

I just went on a 5200 mile around USA trip and found that most small towns were still in economic blight..but then again the numbers posted are coming from the most honest administration ever ???????gbru2505 wrote:Interesting. The original 60s interceptors were smooooth terrific bikes, but the recent Bullets are awfull - best to have a sidecar so a mechanic can come along. I hope the new 650 is better, it looks great.gn2 wrote:Its the much awaited new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which will be having its global launch in California this September.

60s interceptors were pretty but excrement by modern standards. Bullets are passable and value(ish) if that’s your kind of thing.
