considering trading up

Post by neb4152 »

currently have my 2013 pcx150 in the shop. engine issues. something im not willing to tackle. Depending on the repair estimates I'm considering trading up to a 2014 new never owned Honda CTX700n DCT for sale at my dealer. Price is around half of its original price. Was interested in this motorcycle when i bought the pcx but couldn't find one locally. Never been on anything other than an automatic transmission. Hence the DCT interest. I may learn, though. They also have the manual transmission for less. With trade in value and some extra cash, is it worth the change from 150cc to 650cc?

I own both the PCX and the CTX, and they are apples and oranges. The PCX is great for around town, but sucks for the highway, CTX is exactly the opposite. Bikes have been trouble free.

Engine issues? Wow, that is not good. I don't think I have heard of engine issues on a PCX150.

My wife and I have 2 of them, same year as yours. The only problem they EVER had was the clutch BEARING on my wife's bike went bad. Otherwise, they have been everything that we would expect from a Honda.
Currently own:

The dual clutch transmission is a nice feature if you are willing to go the extra $$. But it sounds like it's at a big discount already. . .and new? Wow! 8)
