PCX 125 collected today

Post by cnikonpete »

Finally the day came, bit unsure of twist and go after so many years with bikes, but am finding it very relaxing. Had to do about 35 miles on dual carriageway so tried not to use full throttle at all, still went over 60 in places. MPG worked out at about 94 after rough calculations as fuel usage is shown in miles per litre??

Took my ER5 to the garage as part ex so showed up limitations of a 125 pretty sharply, but memories will fade.

Tried to upload photo, but can't understand requirements re size.

Garden gate needed major surgery, but should go in easier now,I hope !!

Time to put it to bed,got a Xena xzz6lL disc lock with alarm, but my Caberg eco won't fit under seat, bummer .

I assume that your precious is brand new, so give it time. Topend and mpg will improve. Knowing how bad scooter theft is over there I would put the scooter in your garden at night, if you do not have a garrage.

If your helmet does not fit under the seat, consider getting a tailbox. The helmet would be much safer in it than on the helmet hook.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Hi cnikonpete,

you can change the readout to miles per gallon (instructions in hanbook), can't wait to see pics.

Just out the box I was getting an impressive 140+miles to the gallon but that is around city streets where the PCX is really at home, motorway or dual carriageway and you fuel consumption really suffers.

Happy Scooting :D

Thanks guys,

she is brand new, it's kept in granite outhouse in the garden. Tried again to load a photo, still saying too large, probably best as I look like a miserable old sod, bike looks nice though!

I have got a givi box,but don't want to start pulling plastics etc for a good while, it's so new and shiny :)

Will try to upload photos, when I get my head around resizing requirements.

All the best Pete

After much head scratching have changed miles per litre to mpg,it is doing 108 mpg apparently.

Honda have now stopped supplying spark plug tool, comprehensive tool kit now consists of a screwdriver and helmet wire

Think I have also supplied a picture, daughter on bug as she calls it,apparently resembles angry ladybird :o

Lol, angry ladybird.

I think, standing to the side near the front it looks more like a preying mantis but I may be blinded by my love of the damn thing.
108 still seems low. Reset your trip meter and take it for a ride through city streets I promise you will be impressed. 8)

BTW check your oil, I like to dump the black stuff after the first 100 miles.

Gets rid of any new parts detritus as they bed in.

I went to do this and it seemed horribly overfilled straight off the production line.

Very puzzling :ugeek:

Looks great! And, back in 2013, I named my scoot "Mantis". It seemed pretty obvious to me.

On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!
