Found possible range & stats of electric pcx

Post by Greenmeenie »

After months of searching, i think i finally found some info on the electric pcx. If this is legit, the electric pcx has a top speed of 31 mph, a range of 37 to 50 miles and a charge time of 6 to 8 hrs. So sounds like an around town/city only scoot. Again, don’t know if these stats are official, but heres the link: https://nbchenfeng.en.alibaba.com/produ ... ooter.html

It says top speed is around 34 mph. That isn't fast enough to even allow it to run in normal in-town traffic in the United States. The speed limit right up the street from my house is 45 mph. I see the 49cc scooters trying to keep up with traffic and failing miserably. Their top speed is around 34 mph also. Would you want to pay $4,000 for a 50cc scooter? That is what you would get, performance wise.

The upcoming electric vespa is also a 50cc equivalent scoot. I guess any hope for an electric highway legal scoot is not gonna happen anytime soon. Too bad. Still curious about the hybrid pcx tho. Haven’t found any detail stats on it’s range yet.

I would think that the hybrid version would be a better investment anyway. If they could do a 125cc plus batteries they would have a screamer. Not only could you travel a little farther, but if you could use both types together you would get more horsepower. We will have to see though. They could just put a 50cc motor in it, and then it would still suck.

I do prefer the gas powered MOPEDs or Scooters. That being said, considering the top speed and other details about the Electric PCX I think I'd rather just have an electric bicycle. If the battery runs out you can get them through a door and plug into a wall for charging. . .try that with full sized scooter. Plus you can peddle them if need be. . .although difficult. I tried a Currie electric bike some years ago a friend had for commuting to work and I have to say it had torque and did the job for local runs. 8)

I've seen these Motorino electric scooters that have similar performance to a 50cc scooter (45 MPH) but cost more than a PCX-150

If those stats are correct, then the SuperSoco has equivalent performance, for the price of a petrol PCX in the UK.

In the US, I can't see the need for electric as our gas prices are cheaper than most places. I use my PCX as my main transportation year round. I work close to home so daily commute is about 8 miles RT which equates to spending about 8 -10 a month on gas with work and running errands.

If the electric won't go over 35 I couldn't even entertain the thought as those gas powered 50cc scooters on the road, here in so. Florida that max out at about the same, as far as I am concerned are a hazard as they slow down the flow of traffic (which is normally 40-50 mph) on most streets I travel with drivers constantly dodging them and I think they have set a mentality of car drivers that when they see a scooter they can beat it cause it can't go fast and am constantly faced with people pulling out in front of me or turning against traffic cause they think they have plenty of time.

And that rear wheel... omg... Honda would be ashamed to build something like this!

Fake of what? It's an original bike not a copy of anything.

The world's fastest road legal production motorcycle is electric, the Lightning LS218.
No reason why a reasonably priced highway capable electric scooter can't be built based on existing tech.
