Hi, have you seen or anybody seen a PCX with a rear disc brake or is this picture an artist's impression of a PCX with rear disc brake.

It's not an artist impression, it's for real - but only for 2018 models in Indonesia and few other countries in Asia. ABS available too...

Well that sucks! I don't know how long I have complained about the lack of a disc brake in the rear, and ABS. So I guess this means we are not scheduled to get this change in the near future?

Probably won't need to wait too long.
Historically new models of PCX have launched a year earlier in Asia.

@OP:

Don't think you will be able to adapt new rear swingarm to a led pcx- even if front anchor points are identical, shock are located differently and more vertically than current model....

The pcx is the luxury scooter in Indonesia, so price of PCX specific parts were usually quite high (compared to dirt cheap locally manufactured models based on the same global engine).
So far I have seen the old pcx only manufactured in Thailand, then the LED models in Th and Vietnam, he new one hopefully gets manufactured also in Indonesia, as it would drive parts prices down.
Regarding the rear shock, it does not seem to be different orientation to me on the top two side pictures, but I might be wrong. Aso difference of angle could be from changing the to mounting points too, which would be still fine.
A simple retrofit would require the rer wheel with brake disk, rear triangle, rear caliper, hydraulic cabling, rear master cylinder with lever at least.
A full retrofit would need all hydraulic cables, a front and fear abs senders, front abs ring, abs control and wiring plus a lot of elbow grease.
Could i be technically done? Probably yes. Would it be feasible? Most probably no.

I would love to have a rear disc if it came on the bike. However after owning mine are using it every day as a "40 mile an hour bike around town", I'm not sure I understand the hysteria run toward a rear disc. Mine works perfectly fine and both levers can completely lock the bike up as fast as I need it to.... if I was buying a race bike, or a bike that was doing tons of miles and was heavy, I would want one, but for me, the rear drum is fine for my every day use.

Now ABS is a diff story, I have it on my CTX and the one time I needed it, it worked as advertised. Does ABS need all discs? Maybe thats the reason there is so much demand for the rear upgrade? Dunno.....

Indeed, the rear disc is needed for the ABS operation. The ABS works in a way, that continously compares rear and front wheel rotation speed and on abrupt changes it releases the hydraulic pressure on the locking wheel for preprogrammed short periods to ensure that the wheel will still rotate.
In short, an electronic driven hydraulic pump cannot operate a cable rear drum. In more detail even a hydraulic drum would not react fast enough to be used as part of an ABS system. Thus the need for rear hydraulic disc.
In theory it would be possible to create a 'front only ABS" where speed sensors are operating on both wheels, but hydraulic actuator is only active on the front brake - but it would be a lot o hassle for not an optimal result.

No, but it is much easier to implement on hydraulic brakes.

Ummm... *I'm not a big emoji user, so dunno how to translate this to writing I'm trying to subtly ask with no offence at all*
Any reference to this claim? I have neither heard or read anything about it.

Hi Oyabun
Howdy? I found that out in indonesian review that i google translated- they cited it as a minus point. see here: https://www.oto.com/motor-baru/honda/pcx-2018

It seems to make sense as i don't see any ABS traces on the rear disk (sse the pic above)-

This could be overcome by using the rear gear base speed sensor as one of the pickups and mating it to an equal number slots on he front wheel.
Never seen an ABS without differential wheel speed sensing. But I might be absolutely wrong, and they might base the abs unit on inertia and front rotation sensing.

Otherwise good, thank you. I'm working on to get three bikes out of five from the garage by end of Aril, mid May.

Back to the ABS, same video as above 12:38 the caption: " Roda belankang tanpa abs terkunci saat pengerem keras" means: The (rear) wheel without abs is locked when the braking is hard you can actually see that the next few seconds.

I'm beginning to think that adapting ABS to front wheel of current LED version might actaually be feasible- - but new caliper, maybe new wheel, new levers, and ABS control electronics = probably too costly. I am not a fan of the new look but the more i look at it under the skin the more appealing i find it.

You can fit anything if you're prepared to pay for it.
Probably cost a whole lot more to retrofit ABS to an old PCX than to buy the new PCX.
The ABS pump alone would be the killer.
The one on a Forza 125 costs over £1400

Agreed- I did not express myself well enough, by "the more i look at it under the skin the more appealing i find it" i was referring to the new 2018 pcx.
