Mine burned through a few exhaust connector gaskets, I always kept a spare.
After a while I worked out that if every time I got a new rear tyre I also changed the pads and connector gasket at the same time it would save a lot of fannying around afterwards.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

It was time to change the spark plug after I discovered a 2000 km flaw in my spreadsheet. I am dyslexic so mistakes happen. I went 14,800 km instead of 12,800. No big deal. The plug went in without too much difficulty. I ordered a new spark plug from the UK so I will have one ready for next year.

While I had the tools out in the shed, I pulled the rear caliper off to have a look at the brake pads. Looking at the pads with the caliper on I thought I had plenty of pad left but with the caliper off I found I had 1.15 mm on the outer pad beside the piston and 2.80 mm on the inner pad. So I am still getting uneven wear. I could not see the outer pad because of all the dirt around it. I ride in the rain a lot still.

This set of Delta Braking pads lasted a lot longer than my previous Taiwan pads. 23,000 km versus 9000 km. From April to November, 8 months vs 5 months. I have ordered another set of Delta's.

The front brakes is a totally different story. The current pads have 44,800 km on them and look practically new. This is really strange because all my previous motorcycles wore out the front brakes faster than the rears. With ABS I can't even do a stoppie. I like the ABS!!!

The pads I just put on are a left over Taiwan soft pad so I will try to clean the dirt around them to get a good visual inspection every so often. Should I squirt them with the hose? Or some other method?

Where can I get those DELTA pads (never heard of them)?

Then 44,000km out of front pads, wow. Are they stock, or Delta too? Mine's are stock and won't
last much more than the rear ones (with all pads showing even wear).

With everything else beeing 'normal' (pistons, sliders etc), I don't quite understand how a cowboy
like you can beat me slowpoke 44-10, fronts. Am I missing something?

PS: I use an air pistol to clean the calipers out of brake dust, The rears can then be seen from the
back with a pocket flashlight.

I should try my air compressor on the mud and see what happens.

I think my front pads are the EBC Double-H Sintered Brakes for Superbikes I bought from my local Honda dealer. The rear of that brand only lasted 8326 km but that was before I bought a new rear caliper pin.

Factory fronts went to 16940 km. Factory rear to 13594 km.

The front pads work just fine, I try out the ABS doing a front only panic stop. No problems. They work so I won't "fix" them.

I know. The Deltas are already coming, from England, and much cheaper than Honda's.
Anyway, do you have the EBC p/n for the front ones - not found in local dealer's dated (?) catalogs ?

No guarantees but my invoice says EBC FA388HH. There is also a EBC SFA388HH. The pad fits lots of bikes and probably came out of Motovan Canada. Some places list the Forza, some do not, some places are out of date. My EBC front pads were $54 plus tax. Delta is definitely cheaper.

So I phoned FORTNINE, and they have the Front EBCs (SFA388HH /50$), but not the
Rears (SFA 415HH).

Now with 5 new pad sets, 'pieces' of mind haha.

Ffs you’ll be buggering a standard air pistol firing it without a pellet. To clean out your brake calipers.

Well, after reading through the forum, I have started using the front to brake rather than the combo. It's mainly city stuff, so no mostly light braking. I hope to be able to save the rears.

Won't stop the rear pad wear which is caused by the caliper sticking.
Best solution is to change the pads every time you change the rear tyre.

My bike has almost 12,000km now so I orderd a rear CityGrip from Frortnine for $69cdn with free delivery to replace the OEM.
I already have a new muffler gasket and new stainless clamp on hand.
I just ordered the sintered rear pads (EBC SFAHH415) from perfectbrakes for $32.60cdn ($24.70us) with free delivery.
Perfectbrakes also has the Organics (EBC SFA415) for $26.32cdn ($19.95us) with free delivery.

Oh no I hope that's not true.

Ok im about to replace the rear pads for the first time after 27753 k , i have serviced the brakes twice when replacing the rear tire , im a big believer in servicing , im a retired honda car tech , im going to say that the rear pads are aprox 1.1mm left and both pads are worn even ( will need to measure ) i use both brakes when stopping 100% of the time , i keep the scooter clean and have driven in the rain maybe 15% of the time and have always used a gas powered leaf blower to dry off the scooter after riding in the rain or washing it . When servicing the brakes i use molycoat m77 on the ears of the pads and on and under the pad shims to prevent corossion, my pads are still free moving in the caliper brakets so they were free all there usefull life . My question is has anybody used NGBK pads there semi metalic and cheap at about $10 usa dollars , i normaly put only honda parts on ,but since everyone is replacing these pads so often and not sure how long im going to keep this scooter figured i would give these pads a try ,unless the majority say there junk . I have never owned any vehicle that needed brakes at this low kilometers . I might try and install springs to push pads away ,i have these from the factory on my truckand had them on other factory vehicles , i have noticed after washing the scooter after very few kilometers (10 k )and maybe 3 brake applications that theres brake dust on the rear wheel , that tells me the pads are in contact with to much force on the disc in the released position ,

I think the secret to making the rear pads last is to put high temperature brake grease on the pins when assembling the calipers.

I used keen-flo EZE Slide Brake Lubricant Synthetic 331.
