I appreciate feedback and I like it when people scratch their heads in wonderment.
If there is a better way to mount a top box, other than the standard mount, I'm all ears.
I had a scooter before and it came with the top box and mount, and I rarely carried the box
because I didn't like the look of it. So, it was a choice between looks and functionality.
This idea, to me, looks better and because of that, the top box would be used more.
I apologize if my sarcasm seemed directed, I didn't mean it to be.

I apologize if it came off sarcastically. I can blame it on that captain jack sparrow photo maybe,or not.

I'm scratching my head since it seems to be so inconvenient. Opening up the seat, you need to unload what's inside the box first, and to do that in the middle of the road during a long trip would be too much. I know that you mentioned you gonna put some things you wont need that much inside the seat. But then again, you will make that very large storage space useless. That underseat storage can store as much, if not more than that box. If you have both, thats awesome. If you have to choose one, why not use the underseat instead? Putting it in a proper mount will have you easy access to both storage.

Will mounting the bike with the box not difficult?

What if a beautiful young lady needs a ride in the middle of nowhere? Being a gentleman that you are, you wont throw away your box just to help her will you? (This one is a joke)

I have a lot of questions. but then again, i am only assuming all of this.

It does look good strong and easy to do. Please do it and report to us your users review. That might help somebody here, who knows.

Cheers

But if you really hate the look of the topbox, there is a nice saddle box just for the PCX. But then the cost would be more I guess...

Yeah, I know it seems a little "out-of-the-norm", but I do have specific plans that I am mulling through my head.
The underseat storage will be used for on-the-road maintenance tools, materials and parts during long rides.
If I need to access the underseat storage, I just have to release the latch on the trunk and it comes off quickly.
So, the underseat storage will be put to a specific use.

The reason I got a scooter instead of a motorcycle, is that I have medical issues with my leg
and the step-through design is better for me than throwing my leg over the back, anyway,
so the trunk won't be in my way when mounting or dismounting the scooter.

Because I am planning for some long trips, I will also be adding saddlebags.
Tools and parts under the seat, clothes and "at-the-ready" items in the trunk and saddlebags.

BTW, those look like the saddlebags I've been thinking about.
Where did you get them and how good is the quality?

Thanks,
Dave

P.S. in regards to the young lady comment, I'm an old fart who speaks his mind both
literally and sarcastically. I'd probably say something that would either get me slapped
or accused of sexual harassment. LOL!!!

Dave,
You can remove the trunk easily two ways. Press the red button on the back of the truck to release it from the trunk mounting plate or undo the strap buckle under the seat to remove everything to allow a passenger.

This thread has given me an idea for a way to secure luggage on my SV which lacks any decent bungee points, so cheers dgnyberg :)

Thanks, Mel!!
I'll be in the market for those for my spring excursions!!
I have a few other things that will take precedence, but those are great.

dgnyberg .....

I purchased this set for my Majesty in the US. I am pleased with how they look but in the end I am not sure I will use them, simply because of what I will be using my bike for. I am presently living in Thailand but am moving back to the US, likely by at the end of the year. If you aren't looking to get a set right away, but possibly in the spring, PM me in the new year and I would consider selling them for $50 (plus shipping), which is a lot less than I paid for them.

These are some pics I copied from the online site that I purchased them. Sorry, but I no longer have the receipts and I can't remember what the company name is.

I will be in the market for saddlebags after the first of the year.
I'll let you know what I finally decide.
