Well that looks pretty darn nice! Awesome job - any intermediate pics?
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

How do you think real leather would hold up to weather/rain in comparison to vinyl or polyurethane?

Just unbolted the hump, ground out the plastic inserts and solvent welded them on the underside like you join plastic waste pipes in plumbing. Filled the void with Building foam and a little thin layers of foam. Purchased piece of Cowhide from local Saddlers workshop for £20.00 and put it on myself. I do have an air stapler in the Garage which is a must. its not perfect but I can now sit back over the rear shocks which make for a slightly easier ride. I can give you more info if you want! Cheers Arn. PS. Only PCX around here with real leather seat I think? I stand to be corrected!. Next job is a red "Malossi" fuel filler cover. Ordered spare cover from Bikersbitz in Thailand for no money at all. Will spray it red and put stickers on it from Germany on eBay. Should look good!. I don't like "pimping" my bike but its OK to personalise it, Yeah.

Hi Xixon, I don't expect it to be fully waterproof, really, but I will treat it with Saddle soap or similar, but Hey, it feels Great!

Nice job,i was looking at your tucks,it is hard to get them that tight.
And you are right you have to have a good stapler,i usually just pump the air up to 40 lbs and shut the compressor off.
Have you ever tried the 4 way stretch material, you can get slippery and nonslip,i used nonslip on a few solo seats and it really keeps you in place.
But IMO you can't beat leather.

Just a tip: Seal it with something like mink oil to help it resist rain and UV. I know mink oil will help with rain, not sure about UV. I bet Armor All makes a product just for this purpose...
