We Pay For Dead Stock

Post by fish »

Scooter buddy from my coffee village drives this truck to the coffee shop a few sunrises a year.
Sign on the other door says "We Sell Quality Processed Meats"
This fellow has a wicked sense of humor and is a village original; he rides a nice old red Honda Reflex, a '51 BMW w/side car or drives one of his 8 or 9 old Toyota Estates (two of which are hand decorated by local elementary art classes)
Image

He says this is a working truck. Has towed several townsfolk in times of need.

Rode my Burgman in today.

Can someone please explain why anyone would pay to pick up dead animals. I'm not sure I understand the joke. What is a dead cow worth?

When my wife's horse died seven years ago we paid £300 to get it disposed of and that was mate's rates.
There's definitely money to be made in animal carcass disposal.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Not sure if you are being serious or not....

Where do you think the "quality" processed meat comes from?

That's you paying to have an animal removed, I get that... heck I paid 400 usd to have a large dog put down and taken but the sign on the truck indicates THEY buy and haul your dead horse. If that's the case ne'er do well's around my parts would shoot your cow at night and wait for the call the next day o_O

The're buying animals that have dropped dead and selling them as quality processed meat.

One side of the truck advertises one service and the other, the other service.

I thought it was hilarious, my kind of humour, but I can usually find a funny side to life. I'm not a big hit at funerals

But I also have a friend who has a "sense of humour bypass", doesn't find anything funny.

Different strokes.
