What do you think of white seat on White PCX

Post by pattomike »

I took off my modified seat. The duct tape that I was using to keep the cover temporarily in-place while I experimented with the new foam has finally starting to close loose after 5 days and 100 degree temps. So I took it off, and now I am down to my white stock-foam seat. I am not going to modify it again. I am just going to get accustomed to the stock seat. I may put a little bit of padding in the seating area but not more than an inch.
I kind of like the white seat look. What do you think? I could buy some white fabric and put it over the stock foam, and be big pimpin. Seriously, do you like the look? Do you think it gives it a unique, classy touch?

So you are now just sitting on foam?

Lose the obsession and ride the bike.

But look at your bike  what are you going to do now. You will staple more holes on the base putting back the original upholstery?

What does the carbon fibre refer to? I mean, how does it differ from my original seat...relating to your comment that it is carbon fibre?

Come on... take the new seat :D Look at your Precious, she's sad and naked. I will put your base and foam to a professional for a red seat and maybe, just maybe if I get what I want from these people swap you back MY stock saddle for the #18 after it's all said and done. That's an offer you can't refuse

It looks terrible. Doesn't match the paint. Contrasting black looks better.

Listen to homie here.

It's too bad they didn't have some kind of spray coating you could apply. :geek:

This is what I started with - handsome seat.

Image

As you can see I rebuilt over the original foam, using harder rebond foam in places, softer blue foam over-all. Filled the nasty dip which had a hard plastic mound just behind it in the seat pan.

Made it wider as well.

Several owners of this otherwise good scooter have rebuilt their seats - a fellow in Sweden recovered his in white, on his white scooter. Looks classy. (he has a thing for white - a photo shows him loading his double white scooter into a white VW bus)

That fancy aftermarket PCX seat looks like a Tijuana special - but apparently is no more comfortable than the stock seat?
Best of luck with your scooter.

It is the butt-cradle. I have had one for 4½ years and love it. I am 6'1" with a 32/33" inseam.

The carbon fibre is simply referring to the look.

If it was me, I would make the swap .... but you are not me and I am not you. That is one of the things I like on this forum, we can each be ourselves ..... as long as we don't talk about ..... ;) ..... let's not go there.

I will think about it. It's funny (well, not really), but I too am thinking about a red cover. So you can't buy an original base and foam seat from Honda? That's messed up if true. So far there is no staple holes in the seat other than what remained when I took off the original cover. I won't re-staple til I am sure about what I want. I am thinking I need a whole new seat because nothing is working. My next step is to try some rebond. Shut up, you you!
