anyone have engine knock when stopping suddenly?

Post by Spleege »

just curious is anyone has experienced a knocking sound when stopping suddenly. this just started happening. no loss of power just this weird issue when stopping rapidly.

I think actually its the variator. I have been watching a lot of videos for the jcosta upgrades and you can hear the exact same noise at low rpm's. then i was reading that the variators, (stock ones) make clanking noises commonly. I feel much better. makes sense too because the weights are meant to slide inside the variator housing and judging from the videos there is no damping. I don't know man but I'm not digging the variator concept. I liked the auto clutch i had on my honda wave 110 and chain drive. jury's still out on the pcx for me.

I'm wondering too if pcx's in other countries have all the evap crap on them. Here in Dipshitville, California the pcx is loaded with all sorts of smog crap. I was blown away when i pulled all the plastic off to do the valves and spied all the hoses and canisters. I mean how much "smog" is a 150cc four stroke motor going to put out?

I've never heard mine knock before.

CVTs are good technology, they're not as efficient as gears, but are quite convenient. I wish a manual gearbox was offered for the PCX though, I would have bought that in a heartbeat.

Not many new manual scooters around, just the Vespa PX and the LML Star.

Vespa doesn't sell the PX here anymore, sadly.

I like the looks of the S150 ie, but the economy is miserable compared to Hondas of the same CC... I'd want an Orange one. Gorgeous.

The new 3v engines in the S and LX are significantly better on fuel than the previous ones and will easily return 100 mpg (Imperial) in real world use. :geek:
I like the orange too (taormina)

I think I just splooged my pants a little. That's a gorgeous piece of machinery. I wish they were manual...
