Like these helmets?

Post by WhiteNoise »

It's against my better judgement to wear any hat that isn't full face......But, these two are so slick & streamlined, like our PCX's 8) ....Very tempting

A bit unusual looking but my current open face 3/4 helmet with its bulbous visor is not very fashionable.. I presume it will fit under the seat ok?

Cannot say I am personally keen on the design myself to be honest, and I also much prefer the safety ratings in general of full face helmets.

Okay all ;) They are a bit odd looking and not as safe as my Shoei Qwest FF but, if that 1st lid fit me comfy, it would be.......Mine, all Mine :D Ordering online without trying it on in person is a bit tricky though. Sizing and all. Good chance for a return.
Nexx? Hmm, I'll take a look, I think I've seen that one surfing around.

I think the 1st one looks cool.

I wear a half helmet on (rare) occasion, if me and my wife are riding 2-up at the beach. Something like that would be way better than my half helmet in terms of protection.

Have you considered a modular helmet? They're quite handy.

I was at a dealer the other day and was shown a modular helmet that flipped all the way to the back so you could ride with it up without the wind trying to rip your head off. I think it was a shark but can't fully recall.

I've been wearing the AGV Blade for the last year. Its my second helmet. Fits better than my first, and is lighter. I bought the accessory flip down sunshield. It attaches to the same pivot points as the clear shield and layers over it. It can be pivoted up and acts as a shade/visor. Removal is easy for night riding. The Blade fits under the PCX seat- best with the front facing backward. They had some great discount prices on AGV's own site last time I looked.

WhiteNoise-the Blade was my second helmet, but my first AGV. My starter helmet was also a 3/4 (brand:HJC ?) but it had an internal sun visor that scratched up pretty bad after just 6 months, and refills weren't cheap. Our local Ducati dealer had AGVs in stock, and even though I was just window-shopping I walked out with a new lid ($120). I've attached a shot of it with the visor. Matte Grey & White w/ added reflective tape accents.

Looks better with you modelling that helmet. The one I was shown is a shark evoline. It looked nice but just read a review that its very noisy and heavy. Next helmet I get will need to be quiet!

I bought a Bell Airraid helmet for $99 last year. Pretty good deal and relatively quiet.

I have a blade on order. Should be here tomorrow.
Supposed to be very quiet and streamlined.
My current helmet is a mushroom.
