125 2010 uk model pcx

Post by accyuklad »

I didn't notice the pcx 125 was restricted to 60mph otherwise I wouldn't of brought it

if I was to buy a malossi 2000 variator kit with 10.5gr should I be able to then get 70mph

also should I get rollers abit heavier then 10.5gr as I want to able to get 70mph without it reving it balls off lol

Hi, yes, You should achive 70mph (max). I did it in my 2011 model, altough I put 15g (recommended on this forum). Check the belt too.

I used 14.5 and regreat it need 13.5g but it as improved abit then what it was before

was hoping 14.5 would help it not to use to much fuel but get it to boost abit on going

as I only use it for work but not wasting another £50 as it just for work so I wait till they wear out

Im thinking of trading my motorcycle and get a pcx 2013 -2014 and tune it as insurance on a 125 motorcycle not cheap

I use to own a piaggio 125 14hp with tuned variator and to say it was tuned the pcx gets upto 50mph faster then the piaggio and I reckon if it had a malossi it outbeat the 14hp piaggio I had easily

Keep in mind that changing the variator and drive face to an aftermarket one could allow your top end to increase enough that you might make 70 mph. Changing just the rollers will just give you a quicker jump to its top end. I changed both the variator - drive face combo AND the rollers (to 13 gram), and now my scooter is quite fast. Also make sure that your belt is new. The older the belt, the slower the bike.

On your particular bike you will need to take care of the parts that are definitely bad, each of which can affect your speed. You will find that as these parts are replaced the scooter will become more comfortable and dependable. Once you update everything (clutch bearing, shocks, variator-drive face combo, and rollers...and maybe add a windscreen) I think you will be very happy with your PCX. Whether a 125cc or a 150cc, it can be a great bike if not used on freeways. We ride ours on the back country roads where the speed limit is 45 mph to 55 mph and they seem to be happy at those speeds.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

I use to own a Peugeot elyseo 125 12hp and that do 65mph easily and on nice days 75mph with no upgrades

since all the new emissions and shit scooters now slower

for a second scooter i not sure weather if i should get a pcx and upgrade it as stock honda sh 125 or similar to 70mph without issue

i like a fun scooter that can do 70-75 fast with upgrades and my motorcycle isn't cheap for insurance with the mileage i do each year lol

my piaggio 125 had 75000km roughly before selling without power issues and was going to keep and tune it but needed to much work and not cheap for parts
