Carburetor and fuel injection cleaners?

Post by Quetzl Jity »

Does anyone have experience with using Chemtool B12 carburetor cleaner and/or Lucas ethanol fuel conditioner to boost performance with their PCX 150?

If so, what would be the recommended amounts to use when filling up the gas tank? Obviously it must be a small amount for a 1.6 gallon tank and the size of the engine, but any precise measurements?

Thanks!

My experience is the effect is very very very unnoticeable.

I use Sea Foam cleaner in everything I have. Car trucks mowers scooter chainsaw weedeater...etc..etc.. It works wonders. Liquid to spray form. On small engines just use a little at a time. As in 1 ounce up depends on the size of your tank. It cleans fuel lines injectors and even old carbs that have chalked up after drying out. Then I use the Lucas to coat and protect everything.

I use Seafoam. It works. After the bikes have been sitting unused for the Winter they having a rough time stating and running game smooth. The Seafoam helps with that old gas.

I only use BG 44K to clean the injectors of my cars. Very concentrated, and the container's not resealable, so you should plan to use the remainder in your car. You'd only use 1 oz of 44K for a full 1.6 gal tank.

No, it won't "boost" performance. It'll only restore lost performance due to fouled injectors.

No need to add any cleaners. If you frequently use your bike and always have fresh fuel there is absolutely no need . In America all gasolines are mandated by government to use gasoline detergents to keep injectors clean. Additionally Ethanol is an alcohol which is a cleaner in itself.Like Mel says , use a stabilizer if you intend to lay up the bike for an extended period of time. Always best to drain bad or old fuel.
