BatteryGuard monitor. Anyone used one?

Post by Alibally »

I saw this on Amazon and thought it might be handy to monitor the bike battery over the winter.
I'm not sure if it might use more power than the bike would though, flattening the battery quicker.

The battery doesn't have to be constantly monitored, monitors like this are more for things that need to be monitored constantly. An inexpensive voltmeter that you put across the battery terminals once a month or once every two weeks is fine. Plus you get many more functions out of it.

Actually no you can't, it'll work the same as the fobobike air pressure sensors some of us have that work through the iphone. It works through Bluetooth, which means you'll have to walk up to the bike and stand while the bike acquires the Bluetooth and reads the voltage. It would take some type of Wi-Fi connection that the bike and the phone would have to be on for you to do it from your couch.

Depends on the range of the Bluetooth connection wouldn't it?

The range is allegedly 5 meters. It still means I could check without opening the shed up.
It's a bit of a gimmick I know but I'm a sucker for a gadget.
