Actual Waterproof gloves

Post by ScooteringAbout »

Looking for some basic cheap 100% waterproof gloves for our lovely British summer weather :D my current ones chill my hands and it seems my right hand (seriously injured and smashed a few years ago ) is not taking too kindly to this.

You could add the wind hand guards, which will help considerably. They will not be as wet or as cold.

Yes, like those. However, you may need help from your local shop because you have to pull the bolt that holds the end bar weights, and try as I might I could not get those off. Supposedly they take something special to loosen them. Once the bolts are loose it is a 5 minute job. For that price I would buy them and take them to the shop to be installed.

For cold rain, I like to wear overgloves, like http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle- ... gloves.htm

They're cumbersome, but how much manual dexterity do you really need on a scooter
(and how much do you have anyway, once your hands get numb)?

you are not able to turn fully left or right without them hitting the wind-shield/dash area, but mostly it just affects full security lock rather than ride.

You can get cheap or100% waterproof but not cheap and 100% waterproof.

Maybe try Tucano Urbano muffs?

You can get cheap fully waterproof gloves, I have some and they are the most waterproof I own - cost £11 delivered through ebay as they have a Hipora membrane within (get a little wet during downpours on the outside), but they are not armoured so take your chances on a scooter. Even gloves costing £130 are not always chill and water proof (feedback from customers on sites such as sportsbikeshop).
Best waterproof - very large marigolds over light armoured gloves, best waterproof over large knuckled gloves - those small plastic bags you get for free at supermarkets - fold up to tiny size, easy to put on, let no water through - just a little slippery but fine for scooter riding.

Get some of the disposable gloves the doctors use. Put them on and then put warm gloves over them. Your hands will be dry. You may need to put your outer gloves by a heater once you get where you are going, but at least your hands will be dry.
