Installed Daytona Windshield RS

I was looking for an ideal windshield that would deflect the wind away from my helmet and have very low wind rushing noise and wind buffeting, the wind slapping on the helmet. I was hoping that this windshield would work because of its mounting location and how close it is to the rider. I didn't want a windshield that was too far forward as it introduces wind turbulence that is quite load when it hits the helmet. I did a short highway run and I'm quite happy with the results. And, I would say that it performs quite admirably in deflecting the wind from my helmet. There is a low sound of wind buffeting happening away from the helmet and some wind noise at the top gap of my helmets shield. I can duck a little down and forward and i'll be in a quiet pocket of calm air. I'm 5'8 and the height of the windshield is at my nose level. I'll add some daytime pictures tomorrow.

Looks different. Brackets means you can add extra bits and bobs if that is your bag.

Not ideal for me as it seems to mount the mirrors further inboard?

Interesting windshield. I have the Givi D1136ST and I am quite happy with it, but I am only 5'6" so I wonder maybe this taller windshield would be nicer.

You are correct, there is more hardware used to install this windshield. I don't mind so much as the hardware isn't too cumbersome.
I do like the look of the windshield, doesn't look too out of place.
You are right about the mirrors they do mount in a bit, but also a inch or so higher up. Didn't notice much difference with them mounted like that.
I still see my arms in the mirrors.

I used my hand as a probe to feel where the air was flowing. The air seems to be thrown up just enough to not hit the helmet shield, but does start to hit my helmet at the top edge of the helmet shield, a soft blowing of air. Around the side of the windshield there is a bit of turbulence, but it isn't hitting the helmet. Some wind does hit my shoulders. My main goal with a windshield was for it too be quiet, as I have sensitive ears 'tinnitus'. I use earplugs, as I ride at 60 mph + for half of my commute.
Also, there is absolutely no wind hitting my neck, so wind noise from that area has been eliminated.

Interesting. . .. :)

I think the upside would be that you could remove it somewhat easily for the warmer season and then reinstall it later on when the weather starts to cool down again. Just have to loosen some hold downs instead of removing the front panels.

How long do you think it would take to uninstall it? And reinstall it another time? :geek:

Just looks a matter of removing the two bolts and replacing the mirrors? 5 mins?

Looks a good alternative to the usual screen.

The windshield deflects the wind from hitting my chest and most of my helmet, but some wind still blows in at the bottom corners of the windshield. Nothing major though. Their Daytona SS windshield looks for for summer. It looks like it would deflect wind from the chest, but not the helmet.
There are a couple of different size windshields available that can be purchase separately, they are sold as replacements.
Install was quick, 10-20 min.

Well....that's definitely a new approach to PCX world windscreens. Instead of removing PCX screen, we add to it. Interesting. But, those mirrors? They just got closer...and it ain't because of me oversized body getting in the way  Not this time!
All kidding aside, I kinda like the idea. Doesn't look bad either. If it works for you? Then Why Not view thru it!
Cheers to another windscreen choice. Thanks for sharing those pics too! Cool 8)

I tried another model of add-on windscreen but it was at a complete wrong angle so I took it off almost immediately. If I had known about this one, I may have tried it. I had replaced the OEM windscreen with an accessory one that I really liked (see my profile pic) and I didn't want to replace it.

I like the white "windscreen" that you have on, makes it look modded. I use earplugs with 18 decibel reduction, they work great and I can still hear traffic. I think it's a good compromise not too big and blocks most of the air hitting the helmet. Below 50 mph it quite comfortable to ride with it. Above 55 mph it start to get louder, but not like before. I haven't gotten pics of it installed yet, I hope to make some time today. I thought I should share since no one else has one on here. It also looked like what Electri Terry had on his aero Electric motorcycle.
