Indicator bleeper

Post by Simon0867 »

Quite interested in fitting these, used to have audible indicators on an Adly scoot I owned and found them useful. The blurb says 10 minutes to fit, but I presume that's once you've got the front off. How easy is all this on a PCX ??

What does it do? The kit doesn't look like it has much in it.

Here are some mods I just added FYI.. Video quality may not be so good , but you can get an idea of what an indicator piezo sounds like.I also added a seat pad, brake strobe, and headlight modulation for viewing purposes. Despite others I think the headlight modulator is the best thing/improvement one can make for forward visibility. In my riding I see a lot more attention and no it does not distract or blind anyone , and nor has anyone been pulling over thinking I am law or Emergency .It markedly distinguishes what many might see a constant light as a sun glass reflection to an oncoming motorcycle. Its an attention getter, and that's what I want.

Easy, your link is a one way ticket and not view-able without installing specific software. Suggest you move your videos to a less intrusive, confining (no go back) and irritating host.

Interesting..Didn't know you would have to install a program to view this. When open it will ask if you want to join..just click on "maybe later" and then it should direct you to the video automatically. At least that is my understanding..appreciate your feedback ..

The kit simply means your will hear a bleeping in time with the indicators blinking, helps remembering to turn them off. A slightly more advanced version will only start bleeping after a set number of flashes.

I got this one off ebay, works a charm for LED flashers and maybe regular ones too. And its loud to boot, I put a small dab of silicone over the hole (not in it) to quieten it down a bit.

I found it cheaper on eBay than the one you provided a link for. I don't know how good it is but for 99 cents and free shepping I am willing to try it.

That's a great reason to try the flasher/beeper with early model PCX. BUT know that LED bulbs on my street bike flash way to rapidly with standard 12v flashers I assume it will be the same on LED PCX. I had to purchase a flasher capable of slowing the flash rate as LED's use much less current thus this ebay flasher probably won't work in 2015 and later.

No where does it mention the EF rating for that flasher so I vote (no go) for anything late 2014/15/16/17 PCX but please somebody try it

Homie, its for LED flashers. Right now I have LED flashers on the back and getting around to doing the same on the front. The stock PCX flasher relay didn't work but these do. I knew before hand that might happen for the same reasons you stated, so got one in advance.

Really! Ok I will order one right away but link me to the exact ebay seller you purchased from please and then I need to pull my SM out and find where the flasher is

I knew this was too good to be true  Apparently it looks like we (LED PCXers) have a 'LED control unit' and not the 'turn signal light relay' you guys have with your 2013 models. Looks like I'll have a couple flashers I don't need... unless one will work on the Buell WOOT!!!!

I didn't really want to take the front end down to get to that flasher anyway, but I would have done it for the feature :D lesson learned... always check your SM first hehe.

You only have to remove the screen, beak and cowel to get to the relays. Pretty easy on the PCX scale of things.
