12v socket

Post by pappasmurf »

My new PCX came with a space/hole in the glove box for the 12v socket, but it's empty.
I've been googling for far too long to try to find the correct part number for this component.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you.

Well that is something I haven't heard before...maybe the dealer, who are the ones who are responsible for assembling the bike out of the crate, forgot to install it?? Check other ones that are on the showroom floor to see if they have them installed.

Items 8, 24 and 25 I think.

I presume the wiring plug is hopefully tucked away behind the panel.

Wot?
Option 1) Turn yer scoot around and head back to your dealer  "If" you bought it from a dealer.
A 2016 comes stock with a 12V ac adaptor in the dash glove bin. Heck, you payed for it!

Option 2) Dealer too far away? Then I guess you could give it a go by installing one yourself.
You'll need the parts. Call dealer. Order parts (they pay). Order Service Manual (you pay). Have them mailed to you. Read and Install.

Option 3) See link Alibally pointed you to. Order parts, receive and install (call a friend ;) ) and

Second thoughts on a segment of option 2.

I don't think the dealer will mail you the 12v parts. He'll probably insist on you bringing the scoot in. Missing parts, their responsibility. Plus, they don't know if you're just making that up to get a part. Makes sense.
Anywho give them a call. Also think about ordering a svc manual ;) They're invaluable ;)

Thanks for the help guys.
Dealer told me 'That's how it came'.
Guess I'll be ordering the parts myself.

Hi if I get a 12v socket cut another hole for it deeper in the box so the the charger will allow the door to close .

Maybe they don't think anyone in Bermuda would have time to use the accessories outlet. It IS a small island, you know.

Mel, don't you think the dealer should still be held responsible or at least follow-up for answer's. At least to help his customer (and be knowledgeable about it for future sales?)
No? Okay Then....
I'd contact Honda and tell them that I'm aware that the 2015 models come with a 12v socket, and that mine is missing. See what they say.

@ Lafree, sorry I don't understand your post. Might just be me
Please do us all a favor and add your location to your profile. Easy directions are right below my post. Helps to know where we are all coming from when we need help or are giving it. Thanks in advance ;)

Does the hole look factory or home made?

Not so much a 'hole', as a place where it should obviously have a 12v socket.

It might be that different regions have a different spec. Contact the Honda Agent for the region and ask them.

Essentially that was my point. If they have different specs for your region it would be nice to know. The best way to find out may be to contact the regional headquarters. It isn't hard to install the accessories outlet but first you need to find out if you have to. The factory may have goofed. Check with Honda before ordering a replacement. They may owe you one. You won't know until you ask.

If you want to know if it is a regional thing, you might consider finding another PCX or two of the same year and check to see if they are the same as yours or not. But from the look of the pic you posted, it doesn't seem to be something the dealer forgot to do.

You could try contacting, say http://www.wd2.bm/product/honda-pcx-125cc/ and asking them if the pcx comes with a 12v accessory socket (the spec list is short and does not mention the 12v feature)
hope this wasn't the dealer you bought it from :)
