Do all top box mounts and top boxes play nice together?

Do all top box mounts and top boxes play nice together?

Post by Keebler Dwarf »

My dealer is bringing in for me a Honda mount for my PCX. It was from the Honda catelog but I've never seen it before on the Internet. It looks like welded bars in a grid-like shape rather than the hard plastic "tail" I've seen from Givi, etc. I like the bars (I was a little worried about plastic) but I don't want to get locked into the single topbox that's listed in the catalog, which is fairly uninspiring for the price. Is it likely that any topbox will fit that mount, or when you buy top boxes do they usually only fit the mounts from the same company?

The Honda mount and the Givi are *supposedly* identical. I haven't laid eyes on either though.

A universal topbox mount is a universal topbox mount, they're all the same.
