GPS Mounts

Post by mYl1ttl3PWNY »

Has anyone found a good GPS mount? I've just bought a 2013 PCX and I've seen several for motorcycles but none for scooters. I did find a GPS holder for a bike and I'm wondering if that will work with the skinny handles on it. Unfortunately it doesn't have a case so it would suck if it got wet.

I went with the RAM mounts. A couple of pics are here, http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=440 .

Basically, the mounts connect with u-bolts and I easily remove the top portion of the mounts when not in use to prevent theft.

A lot of people just use velcro on their scooters, not great in the wet either and not sure how well the unit will hang on over potholes etc. I'm going to give it a go as I have a flat front to the handle bars, not sure how you'd do that on the pcx, maybe bodge something up with tie wraps and a flat piece of plastic or something

Except that Velcro is incredibly strong and as long as the adhesive that hold the Velcro in place is up to the job and the GPS unit is secure then that should be OK

With the mount you can angle the satnav as you want dont forget so it is a more flexible solution

True. Just saying the Velcro trick is practicable. Maybe not ideal
