Pinlock or Fogcity

Post by newpl »

Anybody use the Pinlock system for antifog???

I'm using the Fogcity shield. However since it doesn't completely sit flat against the visor, you get some distortion. I'm living with it though because it's better that than have fogging. It works great at antifogging.

I haven't used pinlock (although I've thought about it many a times), but from what I hear it has similar distortion issues.

I have a shoei that uses pinlock. I think there will always be some distortion never mind what system you use as at the end of the day it is just another layer of plastic in your line of sight

I use the pinlock for 30 min on my ride home from work every night. Its excellent with keeping the visor from fogging, but there is minor distortion from the second layer of plastic. For this reason, the pinlock visor has a warning that states "for daytime use only" but I only use mine at night and I can see a lot better through the pinlock and visor than I can with a fogged visor.

I've got pin-lock on my helmet and it works great. After a couple of minutes riding i don't notice that there's another screen to look through and i don't notice any distortion at any time. Overall it works and i would recomend it.

I agree, it becomes less noticeable with time. Do you use it at night?

Yes, day and night. I start work at 3am when it's dark, cold, damp and every breath fogged my old visor, but the pin-lock visor has put an end to that.

Glad for the most part, people are happy with Pinlock.
I was hesitant to spend $60 for a new pinlock faceshield and another $20 for the insert.

I'll switch to Pinlock when my $20 fogcity shield gets unbearable.
