Yorkshire 'Meet Up'?

Post by EmilyJEG »

Last year 'lactic' and my boyfriend and I met up at Squires Cafe and it was really good - apart from the fact my boyfriend managed to lock his keys under his seat! Fortunately 'lactic' was happy to ride back to Leeds with me and we picked up the spare set :)

I was thinking we could do something again this year, but maybe more people could come? I know there were a few other people interested, but due to one thing or another, couldn't make it. I've been discussing it with 'you you', but I thought maybe we should discuss it here before deciding on a spot; it's all fine and well arranging to meet somewhere that's 'in-between' (although his suggestion seems suspiciously closer to his end! ) but if someone else wants to join it may be too far for them. After all, Yorkshire is quite a big place!

So... is anybody interested?

My boyfriend (he rides a Sym Jet 4) and I are free on a weekend. Pretty much every weekend really (except this weekend - I've got an essay to do!) - we mostly just 'go with the flow' lol! I only want to ride in nice weather, so maybe if people suggest a few dates they can do, and then if the first one turns out to be crap weather we can try again on the following date. Also if you put where you'll be coming from we can try and come up with somewhere fairly central to everyone :)

Thank you weatherman ;)

Whitby isn't a bad suggestion actually. And it is rather more exciting than the suggestion of Maccy D's haha :D Presumably we'd meet somewhere else first so we could ride together? Bear in mind you'd likely have to go slower than usual because I'm not very fast and Josh is even worse lol...

I'm really excited - I hope we can arrange something sooner rather than later because then we'll have the rest of the summer to do a few more! If people get on, that is :P

What about meeting at York? Not a bad destination either

Whitby is more fish and chips than maccy ds.

Weirdly, I had roast duck with orange sauce for dinner today.

Oh no, you're all at it :P

Lucky ducks are made of glass, so it's probably best if you don't eat them to be honest.

Last years ride out to Squires was good craic so another ride and meet up is a good idea but for me it was during mine and my PCX's honeymoon period and the novelty has since worn off, I ride it to work and back (which is after all what I bought it for) and that's it really, if I want to get out at the weekend on some nice country roads I take the Subaru (much more fun) so sorry I'll not be coming to this.
