Replacement Tires

Post by skbal0907 »

Just wondering how many miles you were able to put on your original tires.

Also, what tires do you suggest for replacing them (brand & size)?

I'm not a mechanic & am not sure what will fit other than 90/90/14 & 100/90/14. If you change sizes does that effect the accuracy of your speedometer / odometer?

Front 14,000 and still going strong OEM Rear lasted 4700 miles second OEM one lasted just over 6000 miles on my third rear now, a Michelin CityGrip

Tyres available in the correct size:
Pirelli Diablo
Michelin CityGrip
Maxxis

Speedo may well be affected if you fit the wrong size, you can work out the tyre height from the width and aspect ratio.
A wider tyre doesn't necessarily mean a better tyre.
The cheapest decent brand tyre in the correct size will be fine, its a 60mph scooter not a racing bike.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I'm past 7000 miles now, front and rear are both good. The front still looks new, it probably has at least another 7000 miles on it. The rear might have another 1000 miles.
