Yep what he said. Those L plates are an embarrassing, degrading sight :-)

Whereabouts will you be moving to if you come over? I'm over on the East coast, but there are a couple of people here on the West Coast and in Texas too...

Ah. Good luck to you then. California is a beautiful place, great for scootering too. Hope you get to do the move. :)

Full bike test and training is getting near £600! I can't justify this cost at the moment so I'm stuck on L plates for the time being.

L plates have a very great advantage though - if I'm filtering for example and I'm getting squeezed I just wobble the handlebars a bit and look like I'm going to hit a car and the traffic parts like magic. L plates can let you get away with quite a bit I think. The only downside is the need to take a cbt every two years - I don't care about not being able to use motorways. When I do finally get a full licence I'm thinking of keeping the L plates on.

I think that would be an excellent choice! If it winds up being southern CA, anywhere near Los Angeles, please let me know, and I'll show you around! If you bring your PCX, it just might be the first black one here

You'll struggle to get it registered.
They'll think you're un-American.
Pack an orange boilersuit and expect some free accomodation.

On a serious note, you would have to be insane to export a UK spec PCX to the USA, it would probably cost more than just buying one when you get there

Not sure if he could even get one over here. I'd try to get it shipped. Might as well.

I doubt you'll have much trouble at all at the DMV here, the emissions setup is the same for all models. They will do a thorough inspection, assign it a title based on the VIN, and you'll be good to go.

There could be a problem with the stop/start.
Remember that the reason you don't have it is because your legislature says no.

As i said on here i paid my bike off last month, and this month my car insurance for my golf is paid off. Ive borrowed over £4000 on credit cards and they were all 0% so i havnt paid a penny for any of it. Officially debt free now, this is how i feel:
Image

Plus today i spoke to co-op's solicitors fighting the injury claims for my astra. They said even though the car insurance policy was void i wont incur any costs as a result, whatever the outcome of the claims. So thats a huge load off my mind. Today is a good day. And now im off to my girlfriends workplace so she can tattoo this on my wrist:

Best day ive had in a while.
