Recently fitted a new screen to PCX, a couple of members asked for description and / or photos, so here goes.....

To remove screen, the two screws under the screen need to be removed to be able to take off the screen. I used a cross head screwdriver with a long, thin shaft so not to scratch up the grill.

Once the screws have ben removed, place your fingers on the grill with your thumbs on the headlight and pull backwards and downwards. It takes a little force initially, but once the tabs release the grill comes off easily. I did watch a video on YouTube which showed the bloke using a plastic tool to go around the grill pulling it away from the headlight, not needed and a good chance of scratching everything up and snapping the tabs.

Once the grill is removed, two bolts are exposed on each side.

10mm socket with extension so not to scratch the bodywork, all four bolts came off easily.

Once the four bolts are removed the screen easily bends and comes off these four silver retainers. When the screen was removed I took the chance to clean this area as it is impossible to do so with a screen in place.

Serial and product reference number. The screen came bubble wrapped in a huge cardboard box with further protective stuff. Daughter had great fun turning the box into a funhouse to play in!!!

Screen unwrapped and inspected prior to fitment.

Screen fitted in place, two holes on each side of the screen marry up to the silver retainers on the scooter, original bolts refitted. Lined up perfectly and took seconds to clip in place.

Grill put back in and screwed in place. Takes a bit jiggling around and care has to be taken so not to scratch the headlight, but once lined up it slots back really easily.

From start to finished the whole job took about 15 minutes, including taking photos, without the photos, 8-10 minutes.

Really easy job with only a screwdriver and 10mm socket / wrench needed.

Hope this thread is of use to someone!

NICE!... tell me you don't have to put the big LOSER decal on that, it would ruin the plastic.

Somebody needs to run over a pot hole, crash and blame it on lack of visibility. Don't you people have any lawyers over there? Heck if you trip over an irregular side walk there's a lawyer to take your case here.

 I'm not the only one who screws this up. Admin, just rename the board index hehe

I propose color difference, PCX can remain minty green and 4Z can go with something else.... homie fixed!

The angle of the photo doesn't help, but obviously it's not in the line of sight. Will probably attach a hard 'L' plate to my front fork.

Agree they are not the most aesthetically pleasing things to have on your scooter, but they do serve a purpose. Have two years to decide if I want to keep my PCX, as our CBT lasts for that period. Will probably do my test, if not can repeat CBT. Also have a car and a garage full of bikes so I'm in no rush to decide.
