How-to Disable the Side-Stand Switch - SHOULD YOU?

Member onemac found this YouTube vid on how-to disable the side stand switch. Appears an easy task.
Doing this will allow you to:
start the motor with the side stand down
and keep it running while it's down.
If you make a lot of stops along your ride, you've probably found that getting on and off your scooter, and restarting it is annoying. Then this fix maybe worth considering.

Thank you to prohomevideos (shown on his beautiful Red 2016 model):

Honda installed the switch as a Safety Feature. If someone were to pull the throttle while the bike was sitting idling, off it would Go. NOT a pretty sight. Someone may get hurt, and badly. Think about that.

Hmm.

The side stand switch is there for a reason on a scooter.

Disabling it on a bike is ok if you want. But on a twist and go?

Can you find a decent mod to sort this out as it could be dangerous.

Not recommended. Stupid people are extremely resourceful.

My scooter spins the wheel for a bit while it warms up, this sounds scary, and sounds like an out for insurance.

Agreed. Such a modification would definitely invalidate your insurance. I’m not being a killjoy, it would be irresponsible to disable a safety device.
