Dave, I have been thinking about putting a 12 volt outlet on the center panel above and to the left of where the gas cap is. Is that area open or is something blocking it, such as the frame?

Im not sure I like the idea of an electrical socket close to a gas filler! Or am I paranoid?

Here is what I put on my PCX. It has a plug to keep water out seen hanging under the socket. It was cheap off eBay and I ran a wire direct to the battery with a inline fuse to be safe.

I put this on when I got my bike this spring and have 2900 miles so far without an issue. I know the water spots. It rained today and I was in it.

A bit. There's no need to worry

The tank has an electric motor inside it, so a socket outside will be just fine.

On the body panel or inner panel? The area behind the body panel is wide open, but there are frame tubes that run down where the inner panel is.

We picked our PCX 150 up Saturday. I like your suggestion. Would you be able to post a photo or two of what you did to the forum? Would you have the Radio Shack kit name / number? Thanks, Jack

I had pics, somehow they are gone. The kit has wiring, socket, fuse and mtg bracket. It costs 10 bucks.

Dave, I am talking about the Center Cover, upper left side of it.It looks like it would be easier to get to than the panel just above it, which I'm not even sure can be easily taken off.

I just came across this picture on the hondapcx.org site that shows where I would like to put it! I guess it can be done.

Oh, that panel! That's the fuel cover panel. It comes off relatively easily. It clips up front at the top, has two screws under the fuel flap at the front, and two at the back. I'd imagine that would actually be the easiest location to mount one if you got a waterproof kit because you can remove the piece from the bike to drill the hole and mount. :)

Thank you Dave. As soon as we get some of the immediate things done, such as change the oil, I will look up a water proof outlet and order it. My wife says that she doesn't think she will need it because I have one on my Burgman, but I can see the problems with that logic, like if her phone needs to be charged and she is riding.

Just completed this, only needed to remove the fuel cover and battery case cover, was fairly easy back wiring it, then reaching up from under bike to secure the 12v outlet

The install I like the best is inside the glove compartment.
Maybe in the future a 12v socket and clock will come as standard.

I cant see any use for that cubby except what maddiedog did with it. There's not much you can put in it that I wouldn't want to have stolen. I've curled some snail mail to put in the mailbox, but not much more. Personally I wish they would have put some storage in this spot

This piece of faring is a waste of plastic space. The scooter would have looked just as cool without it IMHO.

That's not a bad looking place to put it, but if your plugged in during a rain storm it could be a problem IMHO.
