Any recommendations?

I have a budget of sub £100, would like a pinlock one.

Any ideas?

Go to a big shop e.g. J&S and try a few on.
The best helmet is the one which fits your head best.
The Sharp website gives good information on how to properly check the fit of a helmet and gives safety test ratings for many helmets.

If it fits your head properly, the Shark S600 meets your wishlist and has a fairly good 4/5 Sharp rating.

Best customer service you'll ever find and free delivery / returns (360 days!) over £25. They swap for smaller, larger or refund with free return on things above the limit above with no hassle, answer emails, and the site is full of customer reviews. What's not to like - don't want it, don't like it, want to swap it, free! You can get great rated helmets meeting Sharp 4/5 from basic (£60 MT Thunder Solid) to ones with pin/lock and removable interiors for washing for under £100 to just over. Sharp, MT and others have very good helmets highly rated for that budget (sample below - not saying choose these colours or helmets)

HJC comest to mind, very good quality and awfully cheap compared to Arai, Shoei.

I actually looked at the Caberg Duke - like the look of that but understand fit is most important.

got an MT full face flip top for about £80 a few months ago...great helmet...good rating ...SPANISH made...pinlock fitting but had to get the pinlock insert seperately...drop down fitted shade.

MT range of helmets are great! The MT Revenge gets 5 stars on the Sharp rating and costs £65-100 with pinlock included, The MT Blade gets good reviews, only Sharp 3 star but ECE 22.05, DOT and ACU Gold standard and comes with pinlock included and internal sun visor for £75 (seems to have gone up by a few pound since my post above). The £400-500 helmets may be a little quieter on motorways at 100+mph, but for scooters that's not an issue and you should wear ear-buds even at 40mph as high shrill wind noise even at 30-40mph takes it's toll on hearing over time (I find the high-shrill noise goes if I close the top opening, just the dull wind noise otherwise).

I would not go lower than HJC for a lower priced helmet.

Can't see what difference a sticker with three letters makes, the helmets are subjected to the same tests and safety standards.

Some of the £500 helmets get a less secure sharp rating than the £80 ones. You pay for the name and slightly more comfort, not much else. It's a case of diminishing returns. Shoe GT Air, 3 star and £400+, MT Revenge, 5 star and £70

MT Flux..fluorescent yellow is the one I have...from sportsbikeshop.
I got it in a sale a while ago so price is now slightly higher than I paid...but I find it a great helmet.

You only lose out in the badge snobbery top trumps nonsense, so no catch at all really.

I love the look of the MT revenge EVO, except there's no way for me to test fit one in Australia if ordering from Europe.

For the last few helmets I've bought, I trolled the sites that sell end-of-season / out-of-season items. I picked up my last Shoei flip lid for ~$150US.

I do the same thing with my other gear. I look for the sites that are selling items that have been superseded by revised models. I get decent prices on jackets & such in the US by using sites like http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/

Look for remaindered stuff in your market.

only get a budget helmet if you have a budget head!

Dont compromise on price for safety...worst case scenario? save a little longer

As far as motorcycle helmets are concerned, price paid is no indication of safety standards.
