Which topboxes fir the OEM rack?

Post by Virginian »

I installed an OEM topbox rack #08L70-K04-900.

My question is what options do I have that will fit this rack? Is it only the 08L77-MGS-A50ZA, 35L one that's on Honda's accessories page?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Seems an odd way of doing things, normally you decide which box you want then fit the correct rack to suit.

It does not have the right bulges or slots to fit either of the two GIVI styles. I am guessing only the Honda box or whoever makes the Honda box.

I put a GIVI rack on my Forza for a GIVI 55 litre top box. It rattles like crazy and really bugs me. GIVI has too many small screws and the hinges are crap (pins falling out). Way too expensive. Not impressed.

Any of the Honda genuine accessory boxes should fit directly without problem.

Underneath the plastic cover lies a metal part which looks like this
Aftermarket boxes come with a mounting plate, many of them should fit onto that metal part.

I wasn't sure if many of the OEM Honda cases would fit? I'm just not sold on the looks of 8L77-MGS-A51ZA listed as the only accessory for the Forza. Many thanks for the replies! I'll post up what I wind up with.

I have to agree that the Givi's are overpriced for what you get.

There are two Honda accessory top boxes listed for the Forza 300

45 litre: 08ETB-K04-T45ZP
35 litre: 08ETB-K04-TB35

I, too, put the Givi Monokey series Maxia III 55 liter case on my Forza. I included the light kit, passenger back rest, and luggage rack (which I use as an attachment point for a cargo web when hauling things on the pillion). And, yes, there was quite a bit of rattling coming from back there.

On mine, I was ably to narrow down the rattle to the lid rattling against the "base" of the box. It never let water into the box even during a frog-strangler, but there was enough play to allow that annoying rattle. My solution:

I went to my local hardware store and bought about 6' (2m) of clear vinyl tubing (1/4" ID, 3/8" OD). I cut a line down one side of the tubing and put it over the black rubber seal on the bottom part / base of the Maxia. Now, when I click the case shut, there is no play and no rattle.

If you want, I can post a picture.

I put some stick-on foam rubber on. It is a little better. I also got some thicker rubbers for the baseplate from a dealer. Also a little better. The GIVI case is expensive and not worth it.
