Waterproof phone case

Post by Mister Paul »

So that I can use Google Maps on my HTC M8, I'm looking for a waterproof case and mount. I'd like to be able to mount it in the centre of the bars.

I don't really want to pay for the premium offerings, but there are so many cheaper ones online that I don't know what's good and what's going to fall apart on first use. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

This may be a simple solution if you fit one of those bars that fits between the two handlebars. Not looked into this too much.

Thanks. I'm wondering whether that might work on one of the flat side panels above the compartments, using velcro to fix it.

Well my solution may not be pretty, but it works. I have a Ram mount with an accessory that looks like an X. I carry a quart size zip lock freezer storage bag that I can put my phone in if the weather looks bad. The phone works well on the Ram mount, and if I need to protect it, I just put it in the baggy and pull it tight before zipping it closed. Here is a picture of my ram mount. By the way, check sizes if you want to purchase that X accessory to make sure it will fit your particular phone.

Just picked up one of these from Lidl. It's not waterproof, but it won't drown behind the screen. I had to cut the bolts and winders down and stick an extra bit of rubber padding under the mount, but it fits perfectly in the centre of the handlebars.
