Opinions about aftermarket floor plates

Post by kar120c »

I wish to buy new floor plates for my new Forza 300
Seems to me that the choice is between two: the Honda made http://www.bikerzbits.com/honda-forza-3 ... ssory.html and the Bikers http://www.powerbyforza.com/achat-plaqu ... 97128.html

The Honda ones seen in some pics on the Internet doesn't look good to me because the metal parts are too shining and they looks cheap.
The Bikers looks better but there is a black protection going ouside the floor and it is in contact with painted parts.
Anyone has experience with these accessories?
The new Forza is White so I should decide to buy the Bikers I'll chose the black ones with the alu grips

VI want no metal under my feet on a scooter. Rubber mats keep my feet in place, no slipping. Always thought that these plates seemed a very bad idea. Especially in wet riding conditions.

Ordered the H2C/Honda ones, I hope the shimmering is not too much, the Bikers didn't convinced me and are too expensive.
I'll post pics as soon as the arrive

I Installed the OEM ones, however, they were entirely to blingy for me in person, and they look like they would scratch if you looked at them wrong. So I covered the base with 3M di-noc vinyl carbon fiber and added the gray footpads. It came out very nice, I'll replace the 3M about every year, it's a peel and stick ....don't get too hung up on the carbon fiber look, you can get the 3m vinyl in about 100 different textures including all the woods, if you want… left-cf, right pic is stock

Say, Glen, where'd that seat cover come from? Any full pix? To the topic, I'm a fan of rubber as well. The metal doesn't do anything for me. The roads where I am require getting off the seat fairly often (like an equestrian) and the rubber has good grip for me at all times.

Seat is a bikerzbitz "custom seven" seat. See my build thread for other comments.

I had already seen your mods in your pcx thread. I too think that the H2C are not perfect, but searching the Web I have seen that almost all of the tuned Forza 300 mount the H2C and not the bikers. Modify them as you did is more problematic because the rubber insert are black so if I chose to wrap them i must use a light colour film. All this because where I live (Italy) the Forza 300 is not a very common scooter so I can't see any with tuning parts to help me in the choice

You dont really have to contrast the pad and the plate as in light/dark, you can differentiate them by texture, such as a carbon fiber texture or Matte texture .....I still think you could do it in a dark color.
Google 3m Di-noc, tons of options.....

Or you could paint the polished surface with epoxy paint..... just down the street at the body shop

this wouldn't be a big job at all.

Just delivered I am very disappointed not only for the shiny look but because the supplied screws are oversized and damage the thread of the scooter. I understand that longer screws may be necessary but non larger. The stock screw under the rubber floor plates of my Forza are 4mmX16mm the ones supplied with the H2C plates are 5mmX30
Have you had these issue with your PCX?

The supported me too, they says that Honda use oversized screws for a stronger grip (stripping all thread)
