changing the belt on a forza 300

Post by knick620 »

Hi, I have ordered a manual from the US though it will not probably arrive until after chirstmas; my forza is a recent purchase and I am going through the 'passage of ownership' that I do with all my vehicles, having conducted most of the service schedule, I am going to change the belt, over the holidays.

Does anyone have either the torque settings or the relevant pages from the manual so that \i can get this done from wednesday?

Any useful nuggets of info welcome.

Pulled out my Honda serv. manual:
Front drive face bolt torque : 83N-m (8.5 kgf-m, 61 lbf-ft)
Rear Clutch outer nut: 74N-m (7.5 kgf-m, 55 lbf-ft)

Need a specific page posted ?
Kind of a lot for the entire job, but....

Thanks Fish, the job doesn't look that challenging - the torque settings are all in need for now.

The Driven's bigger hex nut is 41mm large (1 5/8" fits), with recommended torque about 55ft-lb (I
say 'around' 55 because I use a small impact gun everywhere, no torque wrench). If you wish to
use one, ProMotion tool 08-0270 fits perfectly on both clutches as a holder.

It is important to open the Driven, clean it out and relube its insides (not the belt, please).
Caution : Inner spring must be handled with care.

Honda recommends 26K belt change, mine's is still looking perfect at 24K - but since one can never
judge a belt by its looks, I think I'd better order one now...
