Forza 300 valve adjustment

Post by aguim »

/attachment]Here's how your camshaft should look like, ready for valve adjustment. No need to line up flywheel
marks, nor worry about beeing on the right TDC, just turn the variator ccw till the cam looks
resonably close to this (took this photo from the right side, plastics removed):

(this is a first upload attempt, so...)

WOW.
Worked thrice as good as hoped! No way to erase 2 of those.

Anyway, clearances are :.006" intakes / .009" exhausts ,+/- .001" . Adjustment is done by pushing the rockers sideways and changing shims. On mine intakes were ok, exhausts both .008", @ 13000 km (still in specs).

TO BE ABLE TO UPLOAD, I HAD TO RE-SIZE THE ORIGINAL PHOTO by right-clicking it and selecting
appropriate pix's. Worked wonders, isn't it...

Congratulations! You might resize images with the paint program in windows... that helps a lot :)

Homie,
OK if I try this with the rear brake pads! (I changed those 'while at it'):
1mm left on the piston side, 2mm on the other one. Not impressive, but since everything in
the system was 'normal', I imagine we'll have to live with it .

Update: thanks HOMIE . Looks like 640x480 pixels is just right. Maybe I 'll do a more detailed
write up on valve adjustment next time.

That's perfect! you are dialed in brother, now all you need is a YT account (google) owns it. Then you'll be doing video spots. Hey the valve clearance adjustment on the PCX was tedious, I hope it goes easier for for the 4Z.

Tedious too, first time out (I was used to the Smax, a VERY easy one). But now that I'm familiar
with the plastic's ritual (dremel-modified to fit in place easier, too), I can get to them real quick.
I imagine the same thing goes with the PCX , better be so with the 4000km intervals! (20000+
for the 4Z -I LOVE THAT).
