Seat Latch Replacement

Post by Frazer »

I need to replace the seat latch on my Forza NSS300A. Has anyone done this and can tell me the steps to access and remove the old latch? I think I need to remove the seat, the seat bucket and maybe the side panels. is this correct and does anyone have instructions/pictures?

Many thanks,

Seat latch!!?? How could it happen?

It is attached to the rear of the luggage box.

Lift the seat up (no need to remove it, your choice)

Lots of fun removing the side covers (4), the top rear ones (very touchy), the tail light assy (3 bolts). The box itself is bolted to the frame (8 bolts), you can just lift its rear to have access to the latch (some cables/wires have to be tossed away).

I'm saying all this from memory. You must be very 'cool' doing this first time...not to ruin the
plastics.

I have modified the plastics (tabs etc.) on mine so that they can now be removed/installed much
easier, but that's another (dremel) story...

Oh, it would be good to remove the battery cover and battery box screws, too, before lifting the
luggage box! (a total of 5 phillips#3 screws, if I remember well). I'm not sure this is necessary,
though, just to raise the rear of the luggage box a few inches (again, from memory).
