Ugly Mirror Extensions Solved

Post by fish »

See the mirrors on this Honda CB500X?
I ordered a set to replace the cobbed up system with extenders I was using to see behind me on my Forza.
They have a much thicker and longer stem - but the maching is the same on the ends, with the same backwards threading - and the fitment on my Forza was a 10 min job. (OK, a 1/2 hour job with the left handed threads giving me fits)
Maybe the thicker stem on the CB's mirrors will reduce vibration? but never noted a problem with that on the stock mirrors.
Honda should think about adding:
A) adjustable brake levers
B) stronger seat piston
C) longer stemmed mirrors
D) the shock tool to the tool bag - maybe remove that emerg. sleeping foam pad ?
E) a common sized rear tire

But then, for those of us who like to putz around with our bikes ....?
(BTW- I visited 3 Honda dealers months ago looking for a suitable Honda mirror....I found nothing at the time)

Nice job. That IS a lot cleaner solution than mirror extensions.
